Monique, Thank You. This is a beautiful site. I will go back later and have another look. Lyn
You've got a number of great answers to this one, Lyn. Good question. I've heard mentioned that it'd be a good use for some of that 'dodgy' thread that many of us keep stashed away which breaks and shreds and isn't worth using for anything else, as well :)
I have made one and know how to make then or I thought I did but they just don't turn out very good. Lyn
I wind my yarn around a piece of cardboard, put a piece through and tie it off, then cut the loops on the bottom. Tie another piece near the top to make the little hump thingie(?). Then pull those ends through to the center of the tassel. I've also done it around my fingers when in a hurry. DUH, just checked out the link below and that's what I do.
These are quick and fast - in the hoop tassels and braids - closer to the bottom of the page.
Thank you Shirlene. I would like to make the tassels out of the same thread as I have used in the design. Lyn
Easiest way I know-decide length of tassel-use cardboard or similar and wrap yarn/thred/embroidery floss around-tie VERY tightly at top-slide off cardboard and cut across bottom. Option-after cutting, make another tie about 1/2-1 in. below top
Decide on the size you want. Cut a piece of cardboard the length of the tassle & wider than needed.Wind yarn around around this until its thick enough, thread a needle between yarn & cardboard & tie off.Now slip cardboard out ,wrap another length of yarn around tassel, down from where you tied off until you are satisfied tie off. Cut other end open & trim. Its similar to making a pompom.Hope you can understand this
I do understand. I actually know how to make the tassel and I would like to twist the cord between the tassel and the scissor fob and as I said earlier If only I had 3 hands. I made a lot of Pom Poms in 14ply wool for mobiles for my son when he was a baby.
Here is a site that has some for sale. They are easy enough to make though without the embroidery machine.

Lyn this is one occassion that it would be great to quickly show you how BUT we are at opposite ends of the world :(
Hopefully someone else will come up with a you tube snippet or something better than me slowly working out how to put the instructions together, its nearly bedtime here and I am not at my best for thinking

found this so hope its OK
Thank You will watch it again when I am ready to make the Tassels. Actually a better idea. Get one of my friends to make them for me. I'm not silly! Lyn

Nice site this one, thanks, Bev. Nice 'props' at their project page too. Vicki/basketkase, you'd like them too!
Thank you Bev , I will watch this again when I get more time. Have put that project away for a while. Lyn
