I just got mine at the Joann - regularly 5.99 a yard - but it is like 60" wide so you get quite a bit. I went with the thickest clear one they had - I want it for little bags that are clear on the front (ITH from MooseBStitchin). They call it Vinyl there and it is on big rolls in the home decor section.
Your local hardware-Walmart probably has Clear plastic in a roll of different thickness (Table cloth Covers).Home depot -Lowes sell drop cloths different gauge thickness also.
if you go to http://www.smartneedle.com/clearv... they sell the clear vinyl in packages. I have used it for alot of projects and I love it. I believe it is 5.99 for 12 sheets of high quality. I highly recommend it. If you are going to do all that work for a project then I would recommend using this.
Just as question....had anyone tried the plastic from a shower curtain? I was wondering if it was just as good AND a cost saver...if not, then I won't even attempt. Just thought I'd ask since I too want to try a peek-a-boo bag.
Becky, most fabric shops carry clear plastic in different thicknesses. I got mine from Hancock Fabrics. They also have clear plastics with the cutest flipflops, smileys, strawberry shortcake little girl, etc. I got a few pieces to make beach tote bags for my grand kids.
