Times have been so hard here. We went without power for 3 weeks because we just couldn't afford it. We paid a little at a time and last Friday they turned the power back on. Heaven is a hot shower! lol I'm still trying to get the place cleaned- just felt dirty. It is so embarassing. Yesterday we got a bill from them saying we're $400.01 past due! I hate electric companies, they have no heart. Now we start on catching up the rent we paid the electric company. During all this our dog had been having seizures and one night had 7 in a row. We found a vet called him and brought him in at midnight. He almost died. The vet has him on phenabarbitol twice a day and so far no more seizures, he's put back on the weight he'd lost as he wasn't eating or drinking much. Now he runs, chases the leaves outside, comes upstairs and sleeps on our bed like he used to. We're getting our friend back, I didn't think he'd make it honestly. Apparantly it is fairly common for some breeds to have epilesy. It was costly but worth it, He wants to go out and play as often as I'll let him.

I may not have been missed but I certainly missed all of you. I can use some of that Cutie cheering up and prayers for an improved financial situation. My anxiety & depression have both gotten worse the last month. I saw a robin yesterday and my tulips are poking through the ground so that means spring is almost here, and I pray for a fresh start on a rotten situaion. Thanks for listening and please remember me in your prayers.

Meri, you have been missed. I love how you found all of the positive things around you to be thankful for. You have my prayers and hopes that you see things in a positive way even though times are tough. Focus on what you can do and not on what you have no control over. Try to stay away from "stinking thinking" as my DH calls it. Hugs and blessings. ;)

Thank you for your kindness. I like the term "stinking thinking" and may just adopt it myself to remind me not to do it!

Sarah, Our dog is back to himself. He's put the weight back on and is a puppy again. We came so close to losing him. He's back to chasing the cat! LOL
Thank you, knowing I have friends here helps a lot.

Judy, God is all that has managed to get me through this so far. It was hard being so isolated for three weeks with no power and I don't drive and it was too cold to go for a walk. I do now though, every day. It helps me feel better.
Thank you, Meri

Have faith and don't lose your sense of humor, don't ever doubt your worth, abilities and skills, and don't ever give up. If you haven't applied for any of the assistance programs for your state I've included a link that might be of some help for you. Spring is a good time to have a new start. Will be praying for that new start for you.

Thank you. I will definately check it out! I've gone through every agency I can find but they haven't been able to help us so far. They have weird guidelines sometimes that make no sense to me. Maybe there'll be something here that we haven't tried. Thank you for your kindness and your help.

Meri, you have been missed - so sorry to hear that times have been this rough for you and your family. Keep your head held high and ask for help/assitance in whatever direction and opening that you can find - perhpas the electric company can put you on a program - so that you don't loose your electricity - I will be praying for you.

Shirlene, we got the electricity turned back on a week ago Friday. The first thing I did was take a shower (heaven). Keep praying for us please, it is what keeps us all a float. I really missed you all.

So sorry, Meri, for all your problems. Life is constant challenges, and it is often the way we view them that make
things seem so much worse. All of us have trying times that weigh us down mentally. The best way I have found
to fight off the blahs, is to look around me and assess all
my blessings, inspite of my present situation. That helps give me a lift, because even when the going gets tough, I am aware still that I have more to be thankful for than many others. It may be difficult to think like that, but all I would have to think of right now would be the horrendous suffering that thousands are enduring in Japan, and it would make my suffering seem tiny in comparison.
My prayers and best wishes to you and everyone needing
the Lord's blessings to overcome their despair and pain.

I try to see my blessings and they are many. I got to visit my 2 dear grandsons yesterday and that always makes me feel good and very blessed. I babysit every chance I get and I always feel happy about it. I have Maurice who is the light of my life and our dog is regaining his strength every day. So many good things. I just need to remind myself to count them when things are not going well. Thank you, Meri

Thanks Chris, I missed that smiling face of yours too. I just had to vent somewhere and here everyone understands what it's like to go through a rough time. No one is afraid to say I'll pray for you and this is very much my virtual family. I have missed you all so much. So, what have I missed? I'm going to have to do some backtracking to see what everyone is up to. It's good to be home.
