Denim is my favourite fabric to embroider on but as I ususally make up the item first and then embroider it, I hoop light tearaway then use a glue stick to position the denim on the stabiliser. I use the same method of gluing to the stabiliser when I embroider precut denim squares. Sometimes I just want to stitch a design and not sure what to do with it which is why I have precut denim squares too.
I use the same needle size for all my projects: top stitch needles and I use Brother bobbin thread because I wind my own bobbins :) I dont always use my expensive embroidery (top) threads tho, I like to use el-cheapo regular poly sewing thread too. xXx
I agree but I did use a denim needle when I embroidered & turned into gs" bib. I used my dh old jeans Ranglers
I've embroidered on some denim fabric. Some I had to stabilize, and some I didn't. It depended on how heavy the denim was. Men's denim jean fabric I didn't stablilize, but softer denim, and stretch denim I had to. I would do a test design on a swatch to check. Also it depends on the density of the design you are using.
