Bikermomfl, I have a Babylock Ellegante. and a Bernina 830, my old work horse, love that machine. Wanted to buy one for my sister, can't be found anywhere. I have an Imagine serger I love!! And an old Singer made in 1903. H.*.
I have a Janome 10001 and just love it. I also have a Janome 8000 that I use for sewing and making quilts on.
I really hate to say what I have, but - I have 2 Designer SE's (thanks to my husband), a Viking Iris that is never used, the Serger that terrifies me, and then my first old trusty straight sewing machine that I have had for nearly as long as I have been married. Probably may not even sew now - have not had it out since I got into embroidery. To explain - 2 SE's because I was doing a big job for a company and upgraded my Designer to the SE, and told my husband that I was going to buy my Desinger back and he told me that it would probably be worth it to get the SE. Sure enough, I got a better deal on that one - that's the reason for 2 SE's. Can't buy anything else, or I would have to add on to the house.
I have a New Home from the early 1990's, one of the first computerized machines made and a Berninaaurora 440 QEE, the same as christinarika. I also have a serger in the closet that likes me about as much as I like him.;)
LOL! Maybe if you changed the gender you would like "HER" more better. Teeheehee!!! cybe'rose' for suggested name change :-) Meganne
I have a Pfaff 2134 but in May i get the new Pfaff vision, then I have a Lewenstein sewingmachine for 25 years or more and a lochmachine as well.
Hi bikermomfl, I have a Husqvarna Designer 1, too! And a couple others, too!
bernina aurora 440 with embroidery module and I am in Australia
I have since years a Singer Stylist 513, last fall, I inherited a Brother ULT 2001,it is then that I discovered machine embroidery and I love it
hi , i have a janome 350e embroidery machine and janome 6600 quilting machine . *4all
Hey biker friend, you have a newer one than me ;) I have the ancient Husqvarna #1+.
well i love mine and hopefull we'll grow old together, they cost to much to get rid of, that's why i love the freebies (hahahahaha) real guilt trip when the hubby bought it for me on our 25th. I kept thinking I wasn't worthy. In the past few years, I've had a stroke, brain surgery, 2 back surgeries and a major attitude adjustment. But I can still ride in the wind and sew on my machine, cuddle my cats and my hubby and be thankful I'm still here (whew) that's like a sermon, flower for you
Wow, that is a lot to go thru. Lots to be thankful for. Do you belong or ride with any groups/chapters/etc? I used to ride with CMA
Husqvarna designer is a great achine. I have an old Simplicity SE3. It embroideries only. It is very dependable and has never given me a problem, not even broken thread or needles...ever. I have had it 6 yrs. I also have an Brother Innovis 4000D. It is such a great machine but complicated. I spend a lot of time in the manual. I have had it less than a year...I'll get there in time. My favorite is a Singer Sphinx 1915 treadle, just like my great grandmother had. My grands love it and I don't have to be concerned about them getting hurt. Because they have so much control over it.
Oh wouldn't it be fun to try to use the treadle! My mother had one but gave it away long before we even had an interest in it. I'm sorry now that we didn't keep it in the family!
The only time my MIL (GBH) tried to teach me how to use a treadle all i could do was sew backwards. LOL! I have a really old Singer treadle I bought for display and I know it's still capable of working but something is missing so the foot treadle will only move one way????
I have the Janome 350E and love it. Not sure what I would get next. So much to pick from. *4U
I have a Husqvarna Designer SE and a Scan. 300. Previously had a viking rose(used in trade-up) and designer 1(my sister now has it).
I started embroidering with a Pfaff 7570, but, like nurselilly, I also wanted to do bigger designs, so I bought a Husqvarna Designer 1. I love my Husky.
boy that was fun, seems almost like my husqvarna dealer saw me coming (only kidding) but I love my machine and what it can do. Happy flowers to all
i started off with a S/H Brother innovis 500D and wanted to do bigger designs ( after 2 lessons) so sold that after a couple months and brought a brother innovis 1500D with PE design 6 and i love it i also have an old jamome memorycraft that i use for normal sewing :)
I have a Brother Innovis 4000, wonderful embroidery machine, had galaxie 3000 before and upgraded!! I also have NX600 ordinary sewing machine, which I love for sewing, making clothes quilts and it saves taking the embroidery carriage off.
I also have a husqvarna designer 1 bikermomfl, and really love her. I got her in May last year but started embroidering in September cos I was somewhat overwhelmed by what it could do and also a bit scared since it was my first embroidery! then I thought what the heck, I should give it a try and got hooked very easily!! I also got the 4d software for it a couple of months ago. Now I just need to discipline myself more-less time online more at machine that is. Afterall theres no use downloading if one doesn't embroider is there?! *4u
i also have the 4d embroidery it came with my 955E (oops) I traded that in on the Designer 1, or my dh did, ain't he sweet, anyway I'm still getting the hang of the 4D and still amazing myself - duh- each time I manage to do something cool. You'll love it more everyday, I know I do, at least after getting over the sticker shock! hahahahahahahahaha
My DH bought me a Janome 300E three years ago and I love it. however, am thinking a 350E would be nice, that low bobbin thread sensor really has me intrigued. But what I REALLY want is the Janome 11000 with the huge embroidery space because I found some designs that need a big hoop and it would save re-hooping, which I would probably forget to do as I was too busy download.......(see S.A.D.D. question by jrob)LOL
bikermomfl, my first embroidery machine was a Babylock Ellure, I traded up for an Babylock Ellegante - then I will not say what happened to it - but I acquired a Babylock Esante, and then a Babylock Ellegante2 (Nancy Zieman Limited Signature Edition) - I have had a Elna and a Singer for sewing in the past, still have them - some place. Hehehe! *4U
Oh - I am going to have to pick your brian, my Mother has one of them and I can't even get a design to come up on it. Help me? *4U
I guess that no one wants to help me with my Mother's Husqvara Designer 1 - it is such a shame to have a nice machine like this - just sitting around and not being used. OH My!
Go to the Viking website and look for an online guide or join on of the many, many Yahoo groups dedicated to just those machines...I would help but I don't own one...but it was a popular band... Isn't it the one that used 3 1/2" floppies tho? That may be a tough thing to overcome unless you can buy designs or load them from a computer. Then you will have to see if the software is compatible with newer computers running WinXP or Vista...If it is an issue try using emulator mode for the program in Windows.

Silver (aka 'old Geek Mom' lol)
silver, thank you - this is a new machine - has a 3.5 floppy or whatever size they are - why wouldn't my software work with it? Thanks for the site.
My lifelong best friend is an Elna Supermatic and on March 11 we celebrated Forty years together. I have never had to replace a belt or even the lightbulb and it has never had a service other than from me cleaning and oiling it regularly. My overlocker is a Bernina that I've now had for 24 years and my latest (Christmas 07) is an Elna Xquisite 2 embroidery machine that I'm struggling to find time to use what with all the designs to download, but i think we covered this problem before didn't we????? teeheehee!
I nearly bought the Viking Designer SE, but at $9,000 PLUS more for the software, I just didn't think it was worth it. cheers & a cyberose, Meganne
bikermom, I have the Janome 350E, and absolutely love it!!! Hugs and a flower.
I have a Baby Lock Esante too and I love it. I also have a old Kenmore and a Brother serger.
I have the Janome 8000 for embroidery and normal sewing, Janome 300E just for embroidery, a Janome industrial, Janome mystyle 16 and two janome overlockers(sergers) I must love Janome LOL * 4U
That Janome dealer saw you coming. Only kidding. I'm the same way about Bernina.
How on earth can you use all those machines? I guess not all at one time - but if I had them all - I would want them all working each on a different item. Hehehe!
You need lots of machines because that way, if you lose one under a pile of fabric and thread sheets and stabilizer and lord knows whatever else you have in the sewing (collecting) room, you just grab another machine and off you go.
