I am embarking on purchasing my first embroidery machine and have narrowed it down to these 3 so I'd like to get un-biased info from users rather than sellers.

I have the Janome 11000SE. Everyday I am amazed by something new. My Janome 350e is now with my daughter... next generation is hooked. I am not able to compare the different machines for you. My good friend had suggested Janome and I have not looked back since then.
The Janome 11000SE is a beast... love it.

I wonder if the type of embroidery you plan to do has any impact on your decision... good luck.

I have the CV and love everything about it. I thank most cutiers have Babylock Janome Bernia & Brother. I don't know why unless it is the availability of the machine in their area. I admit that I am a Pfaffy. I own three including the one I learned to sew on an old 130. The one draw bask I know of is that when you need a part to fix the machine it is usually a couple of weeks to get it. This may be my dealer and not the company though. I bought the 4D soft ware for it and have upgraded to the 5D. I thank a lot of folks want a differant machine because of the pes format which is the most popular format but I download in pes format and when it is saved it automaticly changes to vp3 which is what the pfaff and Husquvarnia use. I can pretty much download any format and the software converts it for me. It also has a memory stick slot on the machine so I save all my designs on ther memory stick, put it in the machine and stich out whatever design I want. I don't have to be conected to the computer although I can conect to the computer if I chose to.

I have not asked the machine to do anything that it couldn't handle. There is a 200 X 200 hoop for quilting squares that I just love, does larger designs. I don't quilt but this is my work horse hoop. Thread breakage has not been a problem for me. I normally use R-A poly thread, but have used other brands and they seem to work equally well.

At times the machine can get out of siquence and make a bird nest on the under side. I have found that this is usually a needle problem. Change the needle and problem solved.

One othe thing about the CV and all pfaffs is the IDT feed. It really helps the fabric go through the machine at the same speed. No more tops shorter then bottoms and vice a versa.

If you chose the Pfaff I thank you will be really happy with it. I have had to have some repair work done but mostly due to user error. and most of the repair has been covered by warrenty.

All 4 of my machines are Babylock, including the Elissimo. One plus of the Babylock machines not mentioned is that it uses the pes format. It is a common fomat, easy to get designs.

I have have the MC11000SE (with big hoop) and a MB4. I realy love to work with them. They are very easy to use and stitch out great. Before I had a brother and after 5 years I had problems with it. Could not use other threat then brother in the bobbin but with the Janome is it not a problem. I make a lot lace and other things and it works fine until now. I must say that I didn't use for sewing because I still have a other machine for that. I hope it will help you to see what you like to buy, Yvonne

I have the Janome 11000 and would love the 11000SE but cannot afford to change at the moment. It dos'nt have a lot extra that the 11000, and as I got the upgrade done to mind it is not worth changing at the moment. I did have the 10001 which I upgraded to the 11000. I have never had any trouble with either of the machines and I would always buy the Janome ones again.I feel that the embroidery is a lot better than some of the other machines I looked at the time and it is also such a compact machine not having to add a extra table to the machine when you wish to do embroidery-also being able to do all your sewing on one machine was also a great advantage. I also have a Janome 350E, and a 11000SE, I love both of them,The 11000 is great because you can do both embroidery and sewing.I woulds go have a test drive before you make up your mind.I have only had Janome machines for the last45 years, and have never had any troubles.

I have 2 Janome's, one is the 350e and the 11000. I loved my 350 until the 11000 arrived in the house!! Now, I really, really love the 11000!!!

Rebalou I love my Pfaffs, I have a old 7570 machine, and a creative Vision 5.5 But If Ihad to purchase a new machine I would buy the Bernina 8 serie

Love my Janome MC11000, don't have the new model but would love it. Since I can do so much more with this machine I've eleminated my regular and my serger. Also it travels well; as I take it to Florida with me every year. Someone mentioned Kens-that's where I purchased mine and they are great in helping if you have questions or problems.

I have the Babylock Ellisimo, and I just love it. I just purchased the latest upgrade with the new bobbin work capability and 14 new designs to do decorative stitching with heavy threads in the bobbin case. Also, the new upgrade allows you to increase any design up to 200% and decrease it 60% while adjusting the stitch density and allowing you to keep the integrity of the design. It is the best machine out there, check out Consumer Reports, it was voted #1 for good reasons.

A big Aussie welcome to you "Rebalou". I would suggest you have a look at the top right hand TAB called REVIEWS. There are some comments on there about some of the machines you are looking at.

I personally have used Husqvarna sewing machines for over 30 years and just love my Designer 1's. Good luck with whatever you choose and welcome again to the best embroidery site in the world.

I have the CV. I have been told it is the only one with precise positioning. It handles the largest hoops without a problem. This was my first emb machine so I have nothing to compare it to. It does have a top loading bobbin. I love the lighting. I can see whatever I am sewing very well. If you have any specific questions, you can email me at midge44614@sssnet.com The cost is the biggest problem. I would check and see what country the different machines are made in.

I have the Janome MC11000SE and I just love it! The more I use it the more I like it. My husband laughs at me when I've been sewing/embroidering and had to quit to make supper and go around singing "I love it, I love it".
But like someone said try the machines if you can. I had just been on EBay and there were a few on there and one has a lot of extras. Some are through Kens Sewing Centre. Good Luck and let us know what you get!
Also, I don't happen to care for the Pfaff machines as if I remember correctly they have the front bobbin - I only like the top loading so I don't have to crank my neck sideways to see what's going on in the bobbin case.

I, personally, favor Brother machines, because they are user friendly and stitch beautifully. I understand Babylock is made by Brother, but more expensive. When, I saw all that the Elissimo could do, I was tempted to upgrade from my Brother PC8500D. But, when I compared prices I could purchase a Brother commercial machine for only a tad more than the cost of the Elissimo, so I decided to wait and get a commercial machine when I get another machine. You may want to check out www.kenssewingcenter.com. They have new, used, and gently loved machines at very reasonable prices, and are very reputable. Good luck on your purchase!

Welcome to Cute. I have the "twin" to the Ellissimo - the Brother Quattro (6000D). Have had it for a couple of months and love it. Had a brother before this one too. So far I have really only used the embroidery side (not the sewing side). Love the needle threader. Love the automatic jump stitch cutting. Love the larger hoops (want to do quilting - have some designs but not been able to get to them yet). Test drive as many as you can at the store - so you get a feel for the machine before spending the big money. Good Luck.

First, I would like to say "Welcome"! You will love all the help you can get from all the cuties on this site. I have the MC11000SE and I love it! It has the built in quilting designs that are awesome.It comes with the AcuFil hoop for the quilting. The Macro hoop is really nice to for larger designs, take me awhile to get the hang of it. It has sooo many features I know I haven't listed them all, but someone else will give you even more info. All I can say, is I'm glad I traded my MC9500 for it, about 1 1/2 yrs ago.
