Another way to use up some of those test stitchouts we all seem to collect!

Lyn, you find some great websites and some greater notion ideas. I wonder if this message will set off a whirlwind of pinwheel makers, using their favourite designs, of course, instead of special fabric or treasured doileys.
I Have to make some of these pinwheels for pressies... that's what I said about Biscornus and so far I haven't even scratched the surface of that project!!! Everywhere I look I see designs that could become Biscornus.

Now I know why I've kept all those pesky little bits of batting. They were destined to be pinwheels middles.

That's what is so exciting about this site - someone will always be able to introduce me to a new project and keep the creative juices flowing.

Thanks, Lyn, for this link.

Alma, I never throw away scraps of batting. I have a pocket on my chair-- it is really for the remote. Whenever I am doing anything with batting the little bits that are cut off go into one of these pockets for another project. Lyn

Thanks Lyn, I love this idea for a pin cushion. I just cannot believe that the person is cutting into a ready made doily to make this!!!!

Some people just don't value these items as we do. Lyn

You can buy doilys at most craft stores fairly inexpensive. i would not recommend cutting up Grandmas handiwork

I guess if you have something, doily or otherwise that has been damaged or worn out you could save a piece of it this way and have it to keep as a memento. That's how quilts were made in the old days, re-purposing clothes that were outgrown or too worn out to mend.
