Posting Links in Answers. If we use a long link to send someone somewhere for help, like a tutorial, not a bookmark, how do you 'contain' them and make them into hypertext (clickable) links?

duh!

Oh, shirlene, you caught me. I did say the same as loretta, so sorry. But I was heading out the door, and had a quick look here, just saw jrob's post about asking me, so quickly scribbled an answer. I didn't have time to read the rest till now! At least I got the right answer with the right question - I was in such a rush, that I wouldn't have been surprised if I had goofed-up completely, haha! At least silver got her answer, and that's the main thing, isn't it! Love you all.

Silver, when you click on *answer*, you'll find *Add Link* under and to the right side of the answer box. Click on that, and it brings up a box for you to paste the link into. Then just click add. You can type your answer before or after you add the link, it doesn't matter which, then click *submit*, and the link shows under the answer. So simple - when you know how, haha! Hugs and a flower sweetie.

That should be *Answer this Question*.

Isn't that the same as what Loretta said? Hehehe! *4U

Thanks Ruthie. Just proves we're never too old to learn something new every day. LOL!

silver, it looks like you have joined us since I have been away. Welcome. There is a button, right under this box that I am typing in, called add link, I beleive that you just copy and paste it in there. HaHa But I am just an old lady that is trying to learn the Internet, so don't believe me. A flower for you.

So sorry, loretta, shirlene has told me I gave the same answer as you, didn't mean to steal your thunder, but I know you won't take offence at what I did, haha, hugs and a flower for you sweetie, and it's so good to see you back.

If you can catch ruthie, she knows how. She did it in a post regarding a pattern for childrens bloomers about 3 pages ago. ;)

Ah thanks jRob, I stand corrected. I just went searching and saw that Letvia actually posted some Hyperlinks, maybe she will share with us how she did it as it certainly makes it easier. I think i wasn't online much that day. Cheers and thanks for advising, cyberose 2 u 2, Meganne

Hi Silver, First you need to open the particular website you want the link (URL) for; then go to the address bar and right mouse click on the address for the page, select 'copy' from the drop down menu that has opened; then come back to your message box (here) and position your curser ready to type, but right mouse click instead and select 'paste'. try and leave a gap or put -- either side of the link to make it easier to see where the link starts & ends, OR just put the link and nothing else in the message. You will get better at doing this with practice so try it by answering this with a webpage link. I hope you can understand this. cheers & cyberose, Meganne

Oh, sorry but i don't think you can make the link into a Hyperlink (active) in this forum, about all we can do is post them for others to copy and paste also. After all, we are directing people away from THIS design site and I think it's pretty wonderful of the CUTE owners to allow us to do that, considering it is first and foremost a DESIGN site not an embroidery forum, if you know what i mean. M

No I agree... it's not an atypical 'forum' but then again we have all sort of made it one lol. It would be nice to see the site set up like the one at SICKs Design site tho... It would be easier to track threads if they were in separate subject areas... Just a thought... hint hint ;). I have never had the intention of distracting people from here but when someone asks a question like about how to run a certain type of machine and we can provide a link to such a site instead of writing a novel in here(like I tend to do lol)it would be cool. Besides, I think most people's browsers are set to open a link in a new window...? There is always a possibility of someone taking advantage of this ability but the good people in here seem to keep a handle on the monkey-business! Thanks so much for your advise tho! Flowers all around!

Yes I certainly agree it would be Fantastic if the CUTE owners decided to up the ante and change our 'community' to a "full-on" forum. This is my absolute favourite design site and it bugs me that i have to keep logging in every few minutes, which, if this was a forum, i/we probably wouldn't have to keep doing, but then again, would we actually still be in the site if it was a forum, yes maybe if it was setup like Sick it would be great. M

Well, ladies, let us not make this forum like all the others - we are drawn to this one for a reason - don't you think? There is a way to use a link in this section - we just need to learn to use it. Hehehe! *4U

I agree shirlene, there's a reason why people are so attracted to this site, and I believe it's because of the way it is now. I think what Veronika is doing, like adding *Bookmarks*, adding *live-links* in this area are terrific, and are an added bonus - thanks Veronika. So *Cute* family, let's keep this site the best, friendliest and sweetest-smelling site on the net. Love you all.

I now see you can add a link in an answer but did not see a way to add one in the original question................
I don't want to make this site like anyone else's I just would like to be able to find questions, answers and comments easier.. I sometimes feel like I am looking for a needle in a haystack. I feel at times like I may be neglecting to properly thank people as well if I do not get back on here the same day and the comments/answers gets lost in the myriad of other's posts.
Thanks Loretta for your welcome and everyone else for the answers... I always appreciate them and don't worry about repeating anything... that way it sticks to the cobwebs in my brain better lol.

silver, that might be something to ask the owner - not sure how to answer that myself, you seem to have much more knowledge in the area than most - Hehehe! *4U
