I tried and tried. Finally had a friend do it for me. I gave up. Same thing.
That's a shame really. All those badges, circles for towel holders etc are made within a couple of minutes once you know how!
You know - that seems so easy... but it just gives me such a fit! I'll go try again. Thank you so much for the help :)
Start with the line tool on the left and set it to a straight line in the right panel. Now draw the rectangle you need and close it. Or an oval or circle or whatever gets your fancy.
Select the shape in the right hand panel. Go to 'convert' at the top and choose 'create column from outline' you are than asked to set the width, choose 2.5 mm or so.
Now go to convert again and choose 'Column to Applique' and hey presto, you've got your applique.
You can once again go to 'covert' and choose 'Split applique into layers' and now you can place any design you want between the second and third layer of you applique.
Looks like a lot of instructions but it's just drawing your shape followed by a number of mouse clicks.
Thank you Martine, will tr this as soon as I am back to normal breathing - just installed embird and it looks like succsessfull.
