My Brother PE750D loves the Metroemb plastic sided 'A' bobbins and I have no problems. I really like the monofilament thread and their price is great too. Think I found a listing at Allstitch for sizing my bobbin *
metroemb.com has great pre-wound bobbins. I only use the plastic sided ones in my Brothers. There are two different sizes you can use in most machines - one that uses the little bobbin pin (looks kinda like a top hat) that is not as tall as the one that does not use the bobbin pin. I am using the smaller ones with the bobbin pin in my old 780d and my new Quattro - these are known as the "L" size. The taller ones are known as the "A" size. So, if you have the top hat you can use the smaller ones, of you don't then use the bigger ones.
goodness, what a price! Just google for embroidery thread, and/or bobbins. Youwill find many sites with better prices. Off the top of my head, here is a site:allstitch. Don't know the shipping, but they have a gross (144) of one kind for $24. Might check it out.
I use size L in my Ellageo, and love them. Need to get some A for my small brother to make life that much easier.

Did your dealer say not to wind your own bobbins but to use M prewound bobbins exclusively, or did he say if you use prewound bobbins only use the M style ones?
Google 'M style prewound bobbins' and learn all you can about them.
I found this information on the Creek Creations, Australia, site.....
http://www.creekcreations.com.au/...
If you scroll down you'll find that Brother 750D uses M Style Bobbins...... as follows.....
M/A Style Bobbins for Brother Janome &
Other Brand of Machines using SA 156
These bobbins are compatible with the following machines
Singer XL-150/ XL-5000/ XL-6000/ XL-1000
Singer Futura CE-100/ CE-200/ CE-150/ CE-250/ CE-350
Brother PE 700/ PE 750D/ PE 700II
..... there's more but I only hi-lighted this much.
A Big Thank You to Creek Creations. This kind of information is invaluable.
I think that M style bobbins are bigger than the rest and you must use a bobbin that fits your machine for it to work properly.
My machine uses L type prewound bobbins, if I want to use prewounds at all.
Some Brother machines use L type but many use the M and A styles.
I think you've been advised to use only the style of bobbin that fits your particular machine.
BTW.... there are some brilliant prewound bobbin bargains to be found in America. I enjoy working with them because they have more thread on them than I can wind on my regular bobbins.

Thank you for all the info. I really appreciate it. I have a great machine-Brother 750D but it has a lousy bobbin winder. Just doesn't work. So the dealer told me to use only M in the machine. So I have been using prewound bobbins--there is more thread on them. I was just puzzled because M is a hard size to find even in the states and I pay through the nose for them. $8.00Us for 6!!!! I will definitely look up Creek Creations. Thank you again and I love your country.
I have a Brother Innovis 900,and wind my own Brother bobbins..
I am on my 3rd Brother machine, find prewounds are sometimes a problem, so have always used the plastic bobbins and wound them myself.
I have had my 750D for 2 years and have always wound my own bobbins. When I bought my machine there was a large cone of bobbin thread with it.
