1 more, just google pin cushion button jar , lots of ideas come up
another one
It's taken me a while, but here I am :-)! And after a search on this cuteembroidery website, I found something that led me to this webpage and it looks very close to your desired project! Since this one was done with a canning jar, I'd just use some E-6000 glue to stick the fabric to your lid. :-)
O.K. First of all I'd buy one of those polystyrene balls and cut it in half and cover it with fabric. You then could do all sorts of different things to it - e.g. put a ruffle around the edge of fit, lace, rik rak, piping etc. let your imagination run wild. Once the ball is covered turn it over and place glue all over the base and stick it down on the top of the lid. When it's dry you can then add some embellishments to it if wanted.
Love and blessings Chris
P.S. this is just a picture from the internet, you can make it as beautiful as you want.
Wow, Chris, I was writing a message to you while you were writing this. Crazy. I like your idea, thanks. Here you are being creative after the day you've had!
You could stuff a little yo-yo glue it down on top and then glue some ribbon around the lid to cover the edge of the yoyo. Or if you have a canning jar it's easy to cover the lid and then put the ring on. I just made two tuna can pin cushions...and I glued all the white buttons around my design board
