dlmds, are you having PC trouble? Hope things are in working order for you, now. *4U
dlmds, I'm very fortunate that I've never had to use *system restore*, but apparently it's very good. Just a word of warning though, If you back-up to externals, CDs etc (***and you should be doing this***), I don't think *system restore* works on these, and I don't think it can be made to work on these - someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that. But the whole point is, if you have a virus or whatever on your HD, chances are it could also be on your backups - hence the reason for doing more than one backup, and doing them at different times. Also, don't save over the old copy of your back-ups, make a new one, keep the old. Remember your virus checkers etc are only as good as the *known* viruses. New viruses are appearing daily. Take great care to protect your designs (and everything else) from these pests. Hope I haven't frightened you all, chances of you getting a virus are slim, just be careful what sites you visit. Hugs and flowers sweetie.
Ruthie thank you for all this info. You are telling me things I did not know. Hope all our friends read this good advice. I am going to do print and save this. Hugs and flowers.
That is a good idea. I had Microsoft before and I couldn't go anywhere, I like to play The Sims and I download objects, etc, one day I went to some pages and got a virus even having virus protection, since them I switched first to Linux and now to Mac, so I don't have to worry about viruses anymore. And Mac has something called Time machine, that store your information automatically with some regularity, so if something happen I can restore my machine.
This must be the same as microsofts system restore. I have talked to many people that didn't even know this was available for help. It is great Huh! H.*.
