I use Kingstar metallic thread now and find that it is a great metallic thread.
It is smooth and not coarse. Runs great.
It is a bit pricey but so worth it.
I will post the link below.

This is the one I would suggust as well - have been using it for 6 or more years.
This is what I use. I don't know how you would get it if you are not in Australia, but it is brilliant. I am sure if you contacted Gary at Echidna he would be able to tell you how you could get it if you are not in OZ. And seriously, tell him Alice sent you. I am a good customer and therefore a pain in his butt. So he will know who you mean.

I also use sulky but have had great luck with coats and clark. However you'll need to slow your machine down, move your thread farther away from the machine (a seperate thread holder works for me) and skip the first tension on your machine. I've tried all the tricks and these work great for me.
I sure don't know, every time I use metallic it messes up my machine. I'll be interested to hear what other people say. I'm just about ready to give up on metallic altogether....
yikes - that sounds scarey. I am going to make my nephew a quilt using old cars and i was thinking metallic would really liven up the cars.
Thank you both for reminding me of this site! I had forgotten that I can buy wholesale from there :) Every little bit helps!! Thanks again!
If you look close at their homepage, they have a tab for wholesale website. You create an account using the documents they request.
