Lots of responses to the challenge appearing in projects now - well done everybody!
Great idea....I'm slowly making a comforter out of my hubbies old jeans (6 1/2" squares) and have decided to put some embroidery designs on it....I don't get time to work on it often so maybe I'll be finished by next April....looking forward to seeing some pictures.
I had to come back and re-read this. I was worried that I had to make it into another garment or make it wearable again. Thank goodness I don't, lol! Now what haven't I gotten rid of yet that will work, hmmmm.
I have been thinking of taking what is left of my great grandmother's old feed sack comforter and making something of it by adding a design to it. This just might be the perfect project for that! Any ideas from you Cuties? It is just old muslim, faded to white with a thick wine colored thread stitched through it diagonally....... It is incredibly soft and I remember cuddling with it as a little girl. In one corner you can see it was stamped MISSPRINT. It is so special, please help me think of something appropriate.....
WELL LOOKS LIKE YOU DID IT AGAIN! ANOTHER GREAT CHALLENGE! GOOD JOB!I'M IN!
Ancient garment? That's all I have. I think some of them came over on the Mayflower. I'm thinking on it.
Think mine are the same age, but the Mayflower was going the wrong way for my clothes. Ly
I like the idea that the challenges use designs from this site.
Ok - that could be an easier one - let's see if I can put my head to it.
We have always something like that to do, it will be a good occasion to use a design of miss Veronika, as you have said in your post
I know I haven't entered anything in any of the monthly challenges but I thought the idea was a celebration of Veronika's generosity and a small way to thank her for all the gifts the gives, and for allowing us to enjoy cuties on her website.
PLEASE do not move away from using Veronica's designs.
I do enjoy looking at all the entries, such a wide variaton on a theme, thank you to all who have shown your work.
Not in response to your challenge question Sue-but to your new pic. Is this your daughter?? I had to look twice when I saw your name and the avatar was not you-pretty girl =O) ~linda~
No - it is me but a long time ago. Actually my daughter and I are very much alike.
oh well, hello you from a long time ago-and I repeat- pretty girl lol ~linda~
Hmmm, that will take me some thought, I clear out my closet pretty often!
yes you are i keep all sizes boxed they are large & whats after that????I can't remember LOL carolyn
I keep way too much. Sizes large, larger, & I have GOT to go on a diet!! Some of my stuff has actually come back in style! Oh me!
Can't imagine how you can go thru your closets and get rid of those outfits that have so many memories attached to them...help please, can't part with those pleated skirts, are you sure they won't be back in style next year ??? LOL hugs x0x0x
I still have all my dance dresses, but than I still use them all too, lol!
Aww an easy one, lol! I'm definately up to the challenge! :)
Does that include designs by cutes?
I think we should stick to using Veronika's designs - wonder what everyone else thinks?
I like this one. I might even find time and energy to post a picture of a project.
Great idea, Sue. There is way too much stuff thrown away in the world today with plenty of use left.
I like your new avatar, as well!
This night be fun, I'm new so how do I know what her designs are? and where do I find them?
That should be easy, ALL my garments are ancient!!! LOL!!!!
Most of mine too - I think the oldest item in my wardrobe dates back to 1975. It is a long woollen cloak and I still wear it!
Got you beat there! Mine is a black dress with a jacket I wore to my best friends mother's funeral, June 1962. I'm recycling the dress by keeping it for my own. hahaha
