i am so excited! i just ordered the shoe design..thanks for the link. i had no idea that such a project existed! my youngest grandkids are learning to tie their shoes in pre-school. this will make a nice award for their efforts.
Those are really neat, and Cassandra's does a great job especially on the edges of her ITH designs. She goes around the edge twice, once at one angle and then the second at the opposite angle making the edge very secure. I would hope these designs would have a hole large enough for an actual shoe lace. That would be important for little fingers actually learning to tie a real shoe. (First Grade teacher here!) When I look at these, it makes me wonder how would the child actually do these. Someone would need to be holding them for them, don't you think?
Guess you'd have some experience in that area being a 1st grade teacher. The picture seems to show regular shoe strings. I'm guessing if the kids were learning they would need some assistance anyway. Just thought they would work for what she needed them for. Hadn't seen any others in my internet travels.
I was going to sew them in a cloth book and just have students practice tying not lacing.
Those shoes are so cute and a great idea for little ones!
Thank you Ramona, It is so perfect it makes me sad! I only sew 4 X 4 and it is 5 X 7. I want a new machine.
