Young lady you need a spanking for getting me EXCITED like this! ROFL ;D *2U
I lived in Pennsylvania from 1993-97. They have a small Amish town that has a weekly market every Wednesday. You can buy anything there and spend the whole day shopping. The Amish women had a fabric area but at that time I wasn't interested in fabric. I'd love to go back just one more time with a pocket full of money.

Sound a little bit like the fishmarket in Hamburg. You could not only buy fish there! You can buy nearly everything: Clothes, things for your home, CD's, food, even living animals ;o)
My last trip to Hamburg was 25years but I still love this city. If their summer wasn't so short (just about 2 month!) this would be my favorite place to live. This is where I wish I could be someday again...
Lucky lucky you, looks fantastic and yes I AM JEALOUS!!!
Yes, you are succeeding in making everyone jealous! Around here we only have farmers markets where they sell their own home grown veggies and sometimes fruit growers travel here for it. But to be able to go to a fabric market would be fantastic. Even if I only looked and didn't buy anything it would be fabulous!
Well you did it......you made me extremely jealous. Hope you bought lots and lots of goodies.
I fall in love with the london-fabric. Had just persuaded my niece to go to the UK for an vacation to develope her skills in english (and this is absolutely essential) and they have also one day in London for shopping (and I made her hot for this :o). So her eastergift will be a bag with this fabric...
WOW - I would love to do something like that. We don't even have a fabric store in the small town we live in, and actually the town I am in is the largest population wise than any other in the county. Glad you found some treasures.
More than I can pay for ;o)
What a pity I don't get the lottery-jackpot that evening...
Could you please ask the sellers to come to Arizona? LOL! We don't have markets like this here! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful!
Take care
Dawn
They started 2004 with those market in Germany but only in the north (cause this is close to the Netherlands). Since 3 years (and after many mails from me *lol*) they have more and more places here in the south of Germany were they stop for a market :o)
If we can make a Octoberfest in Vegas than we can also sell dutch fabric in Arizona...
Greetings, Bettina
Oh my gosh! Yep, you did it, I ams sooo jealous! If I had been there.......I'd still be there! What a great time you must have had.
Carol
Only the knowledge that the next is coming in 6weeks in another town nearby helped me find my way back home ;o)
Greets, Bettina
You also have the Stoffenspektakel and Stoffenbeurs. Some are nearby the Germanborder for eg Apeldoorn (in april) and Venlo
Not near at my place, I'm in the south of Germany :o(
When they start with touring with the dutch fabric-salers to Germany I always write mails that we in the south of Germany really hunger for them to come to us. Every year they came nearer and now they had some dates here around.I think it is along trip for them but with so many customers waiting 6month for them (and saving money for shopping there) they will make their profit.
When they publish the dates on their webpage www.stoffmarktholland.de it went through all the blogs and every crafter tries to take this day off from labor and family :o)
Greetings, Bettina
PS: I'm jealous on all the dutch crafters who had the fabric-markets every week and so wondeful industrial sellings like Oilily, RoomSeven...
I have money but can't get there, lol! The weather here still is unusual for this time of year and I want to go out and walk around the flea markets. The fabric market must have been wonderful! People with the same interests all gathered around beautiful colors! Glad you had fun sweetie.
Debra
Debra you would love it (if we find a place to leave your hubby for that time ;o). Meet some girls I known from their web-blogs and this was really funny...
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could beam someday like in Star Trek? So much easier...
Hugs, Bettina
okay, you did it, make us jealous but I hope we can see your projects soon. Lovely fabric!
I had another mum from the kindergarten with me and she asked me what I wanna do wuth the fabric with the dwarfs. I had to admit that I have no idea so far and that there are fabrics you would never cut just stroke and hold in your cupboard. I think just fabricholics can understand that (like collecting more and more embroidery-designs even if you have more than you can ever stitch ;o).
Greetings, Bettina
WOW. When are you going to send me some!!! HEE HEE I know that you can't but have lots of fun with the fabric you got!!! Love them all.
Me too ;o) And I neer give something away from them (you know "Lord of the Rings"? I'm like Gollum: My treasure...)
Greetings, Bettina
It's an embroiderers dream- blue skies, colorful fabric and time to browse... Thanks for thinking of us; you know we love to see what is out there even though we're far away...
Wish I could charter a plane for all of you and took you with me... :o)
Greetings, Bettina
OK, I'm jealous too, lol! I'm not a window shopper or person who likes to spend time int he stores, unless its fabric. I usually go in get what I need from a list and get out. I could spend all day here, :). Luck you!
After waiting for 3 years for those markets I really feel privileged that I have them here :o)
Greets, Bettina
OK, I am jelous. Like everyone else, I love fabric. Mail your treasures home to protect your back.
Oh, you should see all the professional fabricmarket-vistiors: Most of them have a trolley to handle the masses of fabric and other stuff :o)
Greetings, Bettina
We had fantastic weather: Blue sky and really hot for the 2nd of april...
On the last pic you can see how big that is. It's like a market for fruits and vegetables but those are only on fabric (no smell but all the colors...).
now that sounds like it would be a trip of a life time to see all that. Yup jealous.
You have two limits: Your purse and your aching feets! And with a weather like today a third one: It's too hot and somebody like me risks a sunstroke ;o)
Greetings, Bettina
You succeeded, I'm jealous. They come to Groningen twice a year, but I've managed to be away quite a few times :(
I always thought that they are every week at the markets in NL. Now I can relax cause you are not so much more privileged :o)
Greets, bettina
