This market happens twice a year: in spring and in autumn. There were sellers from the netherlands with wonderful fabrics and reasonable prices (they often sell there collections from the last season) and also german sellers with the current collections. I have 3 towns where I can go to so only the limitation of money stops me ;-)

Greetings, Bettina
PS: Try to post some pics...

I lived in Pennsylvania from 1993-97. They have a small Amish town that has a weekly market every Wednesday. You can buy anything there and spend the whole day shopping. The Amish women had a fabric area but at that time I wasn't interested in fabric. I'd love to go back just one more time with a pocket full of money.

Sound a little bit like the fishmarket in Hamburg. You could not only buy fish there! You can buy nearly everything: Clothes, things for your home, CD's, food, even living animals ;o)
My last trip to Hamburg was 25years but I still love this city. If their summer wasn't so short (just about 2 month!) this would be my favorite place to live. This is where I wish I could be someday again...

Yes, you are succeeding in making everyone jealous! Around here we only have farmers markets where they sell their own home grown veggies and sometimes fruit growers travel here for it. But to be able to go to a fabric market would be fantastic. Even if I only looked and didn't buy anything it would be fabulous!

The nearest to you are Hamburg and Bremen; so sorry :o(
But maybe if you write enough mails (like me *lol*) they have a good heart and start also in the UK?

I fall in love with the london-fabric. Had just persuaded my niece to go to the UK for an vacation to develope her skills in english (and this is absolutely essential) and they have also one day in London for shopping (and I made her hot for this :o). So her eastergift will be a bag with this fabric...

WOW - I would love to do something like that. We don't even have a fabric store in the small town we live in, and actually the town I am in is the largest population wise than any other in the county. Glad you found some treasures.

They started 2004 with those market in Germany but only in the north (cause this is close to the Netherlands). Since 3 years (and after many mails from me *lol*) they have more and more places here in the south of Germany were they stop for a market :o)
If we can make a Octoberfest in Vegas than we can also sell dutch fabric in Arizona...

Not near at my place, I'm in the south of Germany :o(
When they start with touring with the dutch fabric-salers to Germany I always write mails that we in the south of Germany really hunger for them to come to us. Every year they came nearer and now they had some dates here around.I think it is along trip for them but with so many customers waiting 6month for them (and saving money for shopping there) they will make their profit.
When they publish the dates on their webpage www.stoffmarktholland.de it went through all the blogs and every crafter tries to take this day off from labor and family :o)
Greetings, Bettina
PS: I'm jealous on all the dutch crafters who had the fabric-markets every week and so wondeful industrial sellings like Oilily, RoomSeven...

I have money but can't get there, lol! The weather here still is unusual for this time of year and I want to go out and walk around the flea markets. The fabric market must have been wonderful! People with the same interests all gathered around beautiful colors! Glad you had fun sweetie.

Debra you would love it (if we find a place to leave your hubby for that time ;o). Meet some girls I known from their web-blogs and this was really funny...
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could beam someday like in Star Trek? So much easier...

I had another mum from the kindergarten with me and she asked me what I wanna do wuth the fabric with the dwarfs. I had to admit that I have no idea so far and that there are fabrics you would never cut just stroke and hold in your cupboard. I think just fabricholics can understand that (like collecting more and more embroidery-designs even if you have more than you can ever stitch ;o).
