I have a Husqvarna Viking Topaz 20. Some times when I am in organizer it freezes up. Does anyone have this problem and how can I stop this?? Thanks for the help!

OK--just received an answer for this. This software does not like files with the .art extension. If you are like me, you probably have alot of them in your files from downloading. Try deleting them--this did make alot of sense to me because it never freezes when I load folders of things I have purchased, or designs I know have a good extension--it's always on the freebie stuff. How long will it take to delete all those yucky art files? Time will tell. We are in the same boat!

My 4D organizer also does it now and then. I think it's when I accidently click on a folder with some weird file in it? I love the program tho and just close it down and start over. You reminded me to check with the HV software google group--bet one of those ladies can answer this, and probably help us all. I'll let you know :)

I've had 4D for several years and it will freeze up if I try to open newer PES files. I am careful to convert those files before trying to open them. I do like the program, though. It does everything I need it to do.

Do you mean the 3D/4D/5D software? Mine has done that also but luckily not lately. Have you done the "Smart Updates"? If not, that may help. I have the designs not show up on the screen of the machine. That was caused by having too many designs in the folder and having an unrecognizable file in it. When I open the organizer section it notifies me with corrupt files. I write down the file name and go back and delete it. Hope this helps.

I have the 4D software. I have kept up with the updates. I am thinking it is one of thoses things I will have to deal with.

I forgot another reason it can freeze, if you have a corrupted file! I sometimes sort into 4 or 5 files until I identify the culprit...It won't show it at all, and then freezes. Sometimes shows several, then goes white and says not responding. Agravating, but not critical!~ Linda

The photos are there so I know the file is. The only time I get corrupt files are when I first down and try to open. I have never got a corrupt file after I have opened it. I think it is just one of those days!!

Well, that's is true. Mine occurs when I try to download the zip file.

Organizer sometimes does that if you delete from a very large folder, then try to go to another folder before it has finished "processing" (though there is no way to know when that is). Or if you try to copy and paste too many designs, etc. It seems to have a limit, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that limit is! I do alot of organizing, I only use Organizer, and I sometimes open two windows so I can go back and forth. Most of the time it just pays to close the frozen window, tell it to no wait it out, and open another window! I have had the program for over 5 years, my friend has had it the same amount of time and it doesn't do it to her very often, but she doesn't edit or move designs around nearly as much as I. I say just live with it, because otherwise I LOVE the program! Good luck, Linda
