That is an awful nightmare. I don't know how I would be without my designs :) By the way, just finished backup :)

That is so funny! Glad it was only a dream! My computer crashed and the backup external crashed at the same time! I lost my designs and family pictures! I now have two external drives that have my designs on them!

Glad it was just a dream. Hope you have all done back ups of your designs. My son has set mine up to do a weekly back up on my external drive. Hugs Yvonne

I am so sorry, I know this must have been very distressing but I can't help giggling. When I drink cheap wine I don't dream about anything a fall into a coma like state.

I dream all kinds of things... One day I'm surfing and the next night I'm flying to the moon!!! I love dreaming except when they tamper with my designs LOL

Get a USB memory stick and go to your embroidery files on the computer and copy the designs to the stick. I did that and then had my son burn them to a CD cause my computer won't burn one but now I have a laptop so I think it will do it for me. Back up often enough not to lose your best or favorite new designs.

Just a word of warning about USB sticks. Luckily I had already burned them onto disks but also put them onto USB sticks. It is easier to find one stick then search for the disk I wanted. BUT the USB Stick has failed and the patterns are there but I can't open them and the stick has failed to load onto my computer. Lyn I now have an external drive.

You didn't by any chance nudge the write protect switch on the USB stick? I have done that before today.

I have also had a problem with USB flash drives. I only use one for the odd occasion - not to DL all my designs.

I think this dream is telling you one of two things. Either you have too many designs or you don't have enough. Which one could it be?

That made me think.....I think it means hurry up and start stitching more and collecting and buying less.

I don't know how to go about doing any kind of automatic backup. Do you require a special program to do this?

well, at least it's something you can do something about so your nightmare doesn't become reality!

A reminder to back-up? Hope you feel much better now that you're fully awake.

LOL! Dreams can be so weird sometimes! Glad to hear that your designs are safe. Maybe it's a warning to back up!
