dlonna, I remember May day and the May pole, we never did the little baskets - but what a cute tradition to start up again. These little nutcups are to be used in that same manner - on tables at parties and such - the little wedding baskets that I did around Easter - are for weddings to put little candies and nuts at the tables of wedding and party guests - so someone must have had something special in their background that they remember and that is why these designs were created. I used to work with my Mother - at weddings and parties in my youth and I remember all the pretty things that people had for their special occasions - so that must be why I gravitated to these designs - thank you for helping me remember that wonderful memory. Hehehe! *4U

little baskets and they would be filled with small amount of candies. Each child would then leave these little filled baskets on the doorstep of their friends. This was all supposed to be done without being seen - for what reason I don't remember. Most times we made these little baskets by folding paper, and some were "lucky" enough to have had parents purchase the little wedding type baskets to be used. And, ofcourse, the school always had the winding of the May pole. This celebrations was held on May 1st.
