Your DH won't know himself when he has his Gallbladder removed. I had mine done in 1970 and now can eat anything. Have a massive scar but my friend had keyhole surgery last year. Lyn
My heart goes out to you but the lady below is right-its amazing what they can do these days! My mother in law had hers removed and recuperated quickly. Prayers for you and DH.
They are doing amazing things with medical technology these days. My next door neighbor had the laser surgery to remove her gallbladder and the stones. Only a one inch incision and another small opening for the laser near the navel. She was back at work the third day afterwards, and I think she eats pretty much anything she wants now.
Sorry your evening out spiralled into a gallbladder attack. They are painful and scary, not knowing what is happening!
Angel
Been there done that! Will keep both of you in my prayers.
I will keep your hubby and you in my prayers! Nothing can be more scary than to hurt and not know what is going on. Be thankful that it was not his heart. Well wishes and blessings to you both, Linda
I too have had my gallbladder removed. We thought it was kidney stones at first because I had had them before too. Get ready to drastically change your diets even if the gallbladder goes or stays. He will be fine after awhile. I'm thankful for medical science but, it is true we always should include prayers to God for all he blesses us with. cj
I was concerned about the diet too after our DIL had hers removed. She says she can eat anything she wants. Hasn't had a problem. Also, one of my friends had her gallbladder removed and she said the same thing. No problems. Guess everyone is different though.
Gall stones can be so painful. I know cause I had to have my gall bladder out when I was in nursing school. Prayers for you & your hubby & hope everything comes out ok./Lillian
My prayers are with you and your hubby...hope he is feeling better and that all works out fine!
Hope he is feeling better soon. My Mom had to have her's out several years ago and I know she had a lot of pain leading up to it.
you are in my prayers as your husband. please let us know how things are going for you both. hugs. betty
Oh, I am so glad it wasn't a Heart attack, but gallbladder problems are something else!!! I haven't experienced that myself, but I have been with others who have. So definately I will be Praying for both of you!!! Hugs & Prayers, Judy
Prayers going up for you. I know it's a horrible pain. Our daughter-in-law just had her gallbladder removed at Christmas. Procedure was done laprascopically. She had it done on Thurs and back at work on Monday.
I hope your hubby has a speedy recovery. Speaking from experience, gall bladder pain is the worst. Hopefully it will all be taken care of soon and he will be 100% better. Hugs, Mary
Your DH is in my prayers for a speedy recovery and may only good news come your way.
All the best, starlet
Dear Loralye,
What a scary time for you and I'm so happy to read it was not a heart attack. My prayers are with the both of you and hope all goes well when you see the specialists soon. Love and blessings Chris
Your are in my prayers, my DH had gall stones, they were remove using lacer Surgery, only two very small cut, the recovery was very fast.
I have had gallbladder trouble and that one of the worst pains there is. I will be praying for your DH. Of coarse these days - the surgery isn't as severe as it was in the past - but anytime - we remove something that God gave us - we will experience discomfort.
Boy you got that right Shirlene and turns out, alot of the parts we were given that end up causing problems....we can actually do without lol. And what's really amazing is how much less crueling surgeries are now-when I had my colon removed (had UC) 8 yrs. ago-I ended up with a verical incision 10" long and another one horizontally 3" long-now they can do it using laproscopy(sp?)-.Only hospitalization I have ever had-other than birth of my 2 daughters-but it was a doozy of an experience-
LOL-no more bikinis or crop shirts for this ugly belly- ok,bad joke-those days were long gone before surgery lol
Prayers are with you both. I suspect there are a lot of us who've suffered that terrible pain of gall stones. The good news is that once his infection is cleared up with the antibiotics, they should be able to do surgery to remove the gall bladder. It's a pretty easy surgery and fast recovery. Please keep us updated on how he is doing.
Hugs

Your in my prayers...from someone who has been there.
I had one attack and was doubled up on the bathroom floor, home alone and had no idea what it was. I'd rather have a natural birth. The worst part of the surgery was the fear of going to have it.
Had my gall bladder out many, many years ago. Stones. Horrible pain. Had a friend who told me that he'd take his heart attack over his gall bladder attack any day. Haven't gone through the heart attack, but sure don't like the gall bladder ones. Hubby has no idea how good he'll feel when it comes out. And I had the big cut. Stomach looks like a road map. Stretch marks from the baby and the 2 surgery scars. I was in the hospital for well over a week with mine. That tells you how long ago it was!
How scarey for you! I am happy it wasn't a heart attack. Gallbladder removed seems to be very common - my Aunt was 95 when she had hers removed and had no problems afterwards, I hope it will be the same for your DH!! My prayers will be with you both! *4U
Thank the Lord it was his gallbladder. I'm a nurse, and just want you to know that even if he needs surgery, not to worry. Gallbladder surgery is now only two tiny cuts, covered with two bandaids and home the next day. I had the gallbladder surgery when the cut you all the way across and then to months later they came out with the two tiny cuts. I was a little upset with my doctor because then I was only 22. You and your husbands are in my prayers. Thanks for the wonderful designs you so graciously give us!
There's no prayer to small or to big to ask for.... God cares about them all (this doesn't sound really small)....so I will be happy to pray for your hubby and peace for you....please keep us updated.....Gods blessings to you and your hubby...Janet
I see that you are in Canada. I wonder if you were in the USA that they probably would have operated and removed the gall bladder. By the time the government gets through screwing up our health care, I will be told that I am too old for a needed procedure and be let out for pasture.
I will pray for you both and be sure that God hears all our prayers. Hugs for you both.
The doctors kept misdiagnosing my gallbladder problem for a few years and finally ended up with it being removed with an eight day hospital stay. Was disappointed because a couple years after that my mom had hers out laparoscopic without the long scar and went home the same day. He should do good well on the pain medications and when he needs it removed don't hesitate. Felt much improved with it gone and don't miss it. Such a stressful time for you both last night. ~ In my Prayers.
A long time ago,my dad had to have emergency gall bladder surgery too. It was quite serious.
With all the prayers from cuties I'm sure everything will turn out OK!
You only have to ask. Sometime we don't realise our prayers are answered...just not the way we exppect.
I pray for you and your hubby and hope he feels better real soon.
Hugs
Elizabeth
You are both in my prayers as is the cuties as you are wonderful people
Wendy
