Dawn..Completely un-related to this post, but I do not have the time to trawl through the posts today to see if you have posted anything other.
I am interested to discover what your SPARKLE thread is like. Have you used it, (problaby not, given you have your beautiful little granddaughter with you) but if so how is it going.. Goooooooooooo on tell me pleaseeeeeeeeeee
~x~
That is so sweet. And I just bet Nana sewed ladybug on that for her. How could you resist.
I meant to type ladybugs. One is never enough. I love ladybugs and am always on the look out for new ones to add to my stash.
Wish I had a D or a GD./ Your GD has good taste. Hope you put some ladybugs on it for her. Lyn
She just showed up here and I put her to bed. Tomorrow she is going to pick the ladybugs she wants! Luckily she is going to be here for the next 2 days.
I'll try to post it when I finish.
Hugs Dawn
Enjoy every second Dawn. There are just adorable, thats little ones, not ladybirds. lol well they are too.
I can relate. My almost 3 GD likes to take my fat-quarters and stack them up under the sewing table and tells me not to take them; they're for her dress. She also learned her colors sorting through my embroidery thread. She's the youngest of my four GDs and the only one to take an interest in sewing. I encourage her because I have to leave my machines to someone who will appreciate them.
I really hope that Kaylie grows up and wants to sew and love embroidery!
Hugs Dawn
I can relate sew well to this too, My GD was only 18months old when she asked me to make bankie for graybay, I said you want me to make a blanket for your brother, why? She said me keep mine! How can you say NO? I can't & didn't!
I can related to this, Dawn. I also have 3 sons and now I can do girls things to my 2 granddaughters. You are lucky she asked for a ladybug, mine asked for a hello kitty, and this design is licensed. My granddaughter couldn't understand about the "rights" stuff, but I asked her to find another design and she did choose a ladybug too. Love and hugs,Yoriko
How sweet our baby Grandaughters are! No fair you have two grandaughters! Well my middle son and his wife are both in college and are waiting to have their family. I hope they have all girls!! Just kidding!
Hug Dawn
Thank you everyone for the darling cute sweet posts! Flowers to everyone and hugs!
Dawn
I hope you stitched them for her! Do you have Yoriko's FSL Ladybug charms? I took off the eyelet and put 5 of them on a 4x4 hoop and they stitched out great with Vilene 2 layers. Then you can put them all over dresses and socks and anything else. They look cute hanging off of a collar. You are sew, sew lucky to finally have a granddaughter. I keep having adorable little grandsons! My GD is 16 and I don't have any idea what to sew for her.. any ideas?
I am going to go check out the ladybug on Yoriko's site! Thank you for the wonderful idea! Maybe a cell phone cover with her name on it? Or does she have a favorite animal or maybe a butterfly? Stitch Delight has Clutch purses on sale for only $1.00. Maybe you could find something there.

Good Luck Hugs Dawn
If I'd have known grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first.
Sew,sew, sew for that little gal! My 2 grand daughters are now 13 & going on 10 and they don't want the frilly things anymore! However, they DID want me to make their Easter dresses! They went to Hobby Lobby, picked out their pattern & fabric, snapped a pic of the fabric & emailed it to me! They always have to have 2 choices in case I can't get the same thing here. I'll post a pic of them in the dresses when I get down there this weekend. Hopefully!! I know you are doing ladybugs now!! And right where they are supposed to be!
That is so cute - I have tears in my eyes!
I have 2 older gsons (20 & 21)and their sister (10)was my first GD.
I always sewed most of my kids clothes when they were small and the middle always preferred me to make things for her. I carried on to the grandsons.
Once when they were younger one of them brought something to me and asked me to fix it for him and then said "you can fix ANYTHING!
I wish I'd had an embroidery machine years ago!
I even did waste canvas on things for my GSons.
I now have 2 more Gchildren, a girl just turned 3 and a boy almost 2.
At present I am making quilts for the 3 youngest and have requests for afghans for the older 2 boys.
It's awesome when they ask you to make something for them!
The other day my GD hugged me and leaned back a bit to look at me and said "You're the best gramma a girl could ever wish for."
As my mother always said "I don't spoil them, I just love them".
Thats right love them and spoil them! We did all the training with our own children! Now it's time to just enjoy!
Hugs Dawn
Well I was blessed with a Daughter and Son. And now 2 GD's. They are now 2 and 5 years. They are so cute.
It is amazing, how they can change your life, as you have said you can't explain.
Oh and they both have there Oupa (My husband)wrapped around there little fingers. He can never say NO to them.
My daughter can't believe the things we allow them to get away with.(As she so often says, "we were never allowed to do that")
Nakita the 5 year old, always comes into my sewing room to see what I have been doing. I have a special box that I put all my FSL work into, she then sorts through it and makes a pile. Then askes "Ouma can I take these home" How can I say NO.
Hugs Yvonne
I totally agree! How can you say no. We are here to spoil and love them to pieces and hug them until they squeal! I love the nicknames your grand babies have given you and your hubby!
Hugs Dawn
You are so right, they sure do change your life! Makes it soooo much better!!
Hi Dawn, this is because my husband was brought up speaking Afrikaans. So we got the names, and the other is Gran and Grandpa. (MY son in laws parents)
Hugs Yvonne
I bet when they call you Oupa and Ouma in their own little voices! I just love those names! I just might steal them! Hugs Dawn
I would be crying, probably. And for my GGD I would have to do it even on clothes.
I almost did cry but it upsets her when I do even when they are happy tears.
She was pulling out the shirt she had on and pointing to it and that is where she wanted the ladybugs.
Hug Dawn
I bet you immediately started looking though your stash of designs looking for a ladybug, didn't you!! I sure would have!! *4U
Yes I did and I am going to let her pick out the ones she wants!
Hugs Dawn
I have 3 GD's there is nothing I like to do better than sew for them.
There is nothing like grand babies! They love everything that we do for them no matter how small!
Hugs Dawn
I totally agree! Something so simple can put a smile on their cute little faces!
Hugs Dawn
Our little one came into Grams sewing room and ask if "you make me a petty skirt gradma " so we set about finding the fabric she pick one with flowers , and we set to work ...she loves it ,and she is only three. One of Grandma treasures in life . Cathy
Takes your breathe away doesn't? Their sweet little face looking up at you! If you think I am in love with her You should see my husband that she calls Poppie!
Hugs Dawn
There is nothing so sweet, as what comes out of the mouth of a toddler! Makes you want to squeeze them with a big hug!!

How adorable..My 1st GD is due end of this month, and i can't wait to experience the same thrill as yourself..Happy Days ahead :)
Congratsulation! Wait until you lay eyes on that baby your heart will be totally taken!
Dawn
How sweet. I made clothes for my daughters when they were little. They are all grown now. I miss it. No grandchildren yet.
When you become a grandmother for the first time it is ever better than when you had your own children. Hard to believe but the little one will completely take over your whole life! It's so different that I can't explain. But when it happens you'll feel it right in your heart!
Hugs Dawn
My 3-yr old grandson likes to watch the embroideries stitch out. The other day I showed him some dinosaurs in the HV catalog, and said "these dinosaurs would look really cute on your swimming trunks". His reply "actually Grandma, those are dragons!" I didn't notice they had wings :)
I laughed out loud! How sweet! Kaylie my GD loves to watch the designs stitch out too! Thanks for the giggle!
Hugs Dawn
I have two sons 6 and 9. I have a long time to wait for little girls in my house.

When Kaylie was born I couldn't believe she was a girl! My oldest son had a boy for my first grandchild. So I thought that I would never get a girl! But I love my boys just as much!
Hugs Dawn
Wonderful! how cute! glad you have your little GD after 3 sons! Hugs Sally
Me too! I have been having so much fun stitching out all the girly designs for her.
I have been greatly bless!
Hugs Dawn
How exciting!! That is great. Makes you all warm inside.
How enjoyable for you. You'll have her embroidering before you know it and she'll be wanting her own embroidery machine! Great to know you may pass on your talents.
I hope she loves to embroider! I am going to try to give her the love of crafts! My daughter in law isn't interested in crafting at all. I sure wish she did!
