with their spare time? Do they make other things? How do they create? I don't think I could exist without my sewing machine! Don't they know what they are missing?

I once saw a sign that said Boring Women have Immaculate Homes. Is this all somehow related? I am still trying to figure this out. I told you all I was challenged!
Do any Cuties keep super neat homes?

They probably complain that they are bored. As for a neat house, I am like the rest of you. It is neat enough to keep visitors happy. But I also use the excuse of my bad spine to cover myself.

I like the saying "if you come to see me come anytime, if you come to see my house make an appointment"

I'm not sure about everyone else here but they come to me. Seems like I always have a project or 2 to do for someone else. If I showed you a picture of my sewing room right now You'd call and report me. LOL But I know where everything is.
I have an older sister who used to make the most beautiful square dance dresses for herself and my other sister. they were in a square dance club. but when she had a broken zipper in her slacks they always came to me. Never could understand that one. Zippers are so easy to replace but she couldn't figure it out. I'd rather be sewing or embroidering than anything else..

I have actually asked a few people what they do when one of their kids gets a rip in their pants or whatever.
One I talked to just recently has 2 girls (10 & 3)and they gave the 10 Yr old a sewing machine for xmas(she'd been given one a few yrs ago and it's been sitting in the back of her closet for sev yrs). I gathered up some different scraps - good sized pieces- for her to give her so she would have something to practice on. I also gave her some thread and other odds and ends I had extras of and that Mom didn't think of to go with it for start up.
She can only sew by hand and has a hard time with that. Now her daughter will prob. do some repairs!
I've never got much of an answer from other people I've asked.
My home is definitely not immaculate - especially the sewing room. The rest gets what I can find time for or can manage to do.
So I figure they must buy everything or get someone to do things for them.

Super neat home keeper?? MY house keeps ME!! LOL
I live by the motto, "Clean enough to be healthy; dirty enough to be happy!" And I am the MOST unboring woman on earth, I would wager a bet!! I have that framed saying, "Boring Women have Immaculate Homes"!!

Jan housework will always be there. I personally like to create too and people who know me accept that. I don't apologise if I haven't dusted, as soon as you do it's back again anyway. And I'd rather be sewing something than housecleaning. It gets done eventually, but only when I want to do it.

Love and blessing Chris

P.S. My sewing room is my haven, threads on the floor, stabliser on the Horn cabinet and on the ironing board etc. etc. The rest of the house is tidy and that's fine with me.

These are questions we'll never know Thank God. Neat home. Some of it is, the rooms that people have to see. But my part is as I want it. Thread on floor 3 machines set up. I think they shop somewhere else other then JoAnns. I have always told my family, I would rather have zippers and thread then dimonds and gold. Is this sick? On the resort I live, we have a sewer, florist and we have been waiting for a painter to move in and then we would have all areas covered. Love it

They don't, they impose on their "crafty friends" to do it for them :)

I've had friends who couldn't sew on a button, or hem a pair of jeans! Unreal. How much skill does it take to do those?

faerynutt by faerynutt 08 Apr 2011

Not much! My mother made sure my brothers could sew buttons, hem pants and cook a little before they left on their own.

Sounds like you mother was a wise woman!
