Those of you doing the scrubber dishclothes, and using the netting. Have you washed them? How do they do in the dryer? The reason I am asking, well, I washed the "FooFoo" scubbies for the bath - you know those big net balls, and put it in the dryer. Needless to say, the heat from the dryer distroyed the scrubbie. I want to make some of the scrubbie dish clothes as gifts, and would hate for the same thing to happen with the netting in the applique portion. I don't want to waste my time if the heat from a dryer will distroy it.

I keep forgetting to answer that mine turned out great after washing. I washed them in warm water and dried them with other towels. They looked just as good coming out as when I put them in. I used tulle on my face clothes and netting on my kitchen dish cloths. I can't wait to make more.

Thanks - I did try a sample, but had an issue with the netting I was using, I will try again and see if this turns out better.

I would say ditto to the net on that one. What I did finally after I couldn't get it to clip right on the wash clothes was to just netting put a thin piece of stabilizer in the hoop, put about 6 layers of net on each side and do did an applique around, then pinked around the edges of the applique. Looks great and I don't have to worry about the cloth getting dirty.

What a great question - hope we get some answers from those that have made them and dried them. What a mess this could be with a gift.

Well, I am hoping that someone has washed and put their dishcloth in the dryer. I tried one out today, but I was not happy with the netting that I had, and it was more work than I think it should have to be. I would certaininly not give this sample to anyone. What a mess! But, I as verify curious to see if the hold up to dryer heat. This is a unique idea, and I would love to do some as gifts to my eldery aunts.

here is an idea that may help you. I used netting from a old wedding vail and it works great. You can also cut the it into one inch wide strips and chrochet it with your wool and it works great!

Well, my first try at it was a mess. I need some netting that I think will hold up. LOL

Thanks for bring that to our attention. There may be a netting that can hold up to the high heat of the dryer. Have not made any of these but will be interested to what the other cuties have tried. My dryer has a few heat settings so that would be an option for me and I do hang things on the cloths line to dry.
