to turn off the machine or push the emb stop go button to get it to quit racing. The repair man at the quilt shop says it can not be repaired. It has to be replaced at $105. Does this sound right to all of you? I would call or write Pfaff but don't know where. The machine was expensive and this seems to me to be a mfg problem not something I did to cause it. Thanks for your imput and advise.

my 2140 had foot pedal issues. My repairman took it to bits and cleaned the dust and fluff out and reset some kind of points-system in it and now it's fine, thankfully. He also indicated that any good mechanic may be able to do it.

There should be a contact number or address at the back of your manual. Or you could search the web. You never know it could still be covered by warranty.

I did find an address in the back but it is an office in cleveland ohio that closed when they joined with singer and viking.

Yes I would pay the $105.00 and replace the foot pedal. A new one is better than going back time after time trying to fix something that is suppost to be replaced.

Both my phaff 1222 and 1229 both had to have foot pedals replaced, the 1222 finally died, no elec,But that was after 30 some years. I'm sure in this day and age, its probably right. Do you have surge protecter? if not that maybe foot.

Foot pedals are expensive.....not sure that they are covered by warranty..I would bite the bullet and replace, it sounds like the contact points in the foot are worn.

I looked all thru my papers and I can't find any warranty listed anywhere. I will have to contact the quilt shop where I bought it. I didn't do reg sewing on it much and thats why I didn't realize the foot pedal was defective. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My husband is very handy but wasn't sure if he could fix this. Thanks
