I love cats but have lost too many to snakes and it breaks my heart. Only have a 13 year old girl dog who is deaf and a Galah now.
So pleased that you have given us the story behind your new avatar. I did do a double take this morning. Pop is such a beautiful cat but all your cats are so pretty.
Love the new kitty avatar and his story. They all have individual personalities.
Aren't they amazing! I thought about you this morning when we had 8 inches of new snow and the aspen was covered with grosbeaks and brown capped rosy finches. It was really pretty - and loud too! We had to fill the feeder three times today.
He is a beautiful and healthy looking kitty, Jan! Sam, the one I am holding in my avatar is so docile and loving, enjoys being close, and too, will lie down quickly for a tummy rub, so we have to be careful he doesn't trip us. Our other kitty is Spooky, a solid black with bright green eyes that almost glow! Spooky is more skiddish. She loves a tummy rub occasionally, but does not like to be picked up. Her fur is short, but so thick and shiny. She
and Buddy, my Dachshund, are best friends. In the hot summertime, they both lie side by side under a shade tree to nap. I need to snap a picture of them! Unusually friendly for a dog and cat. LOL

How Neat for dog and kitty buddies. I was thinking this kitty was Tom, not Sam! Hi Sam! He just looks like one of those really great cats that you can do anything with! Bates, Ben's service dog, was really good buddies with Oscar, our long hair gray. One morning I let Bates out of his kennel and out came Oscar with him. Too cute.
What was really funny a couple of times we had a thunderstorm, which Buddy (Dachshund)hates, and we looked from the sunroom windows and saw Spooky and Buddy looking out from his doghouse, side by side! LOL I took a pic, but it was too dark because of the storm darkness.
