Memorial Day is coming soon, and what better way to remember our Vets, past and present, than with a Blue Star Flag. Starting in WWII a group of mothers of serving soldiers began the custom of flying these flags in their windows until their loved ones returned. Almost every home had one. When the blue star turned gold, their loved one had lost his or her life. Sometimes families would have multiple stars. This custom continues still today! I digitized this to honor my dad, William R Hill, who served in the Army during WWII in Okinawa. He is still living, is 84 now and just went through doubly bypass surgery. He loves anything I put this design on. I posted one of the items in projects. I hope some of you can use this design to honor your vets too. Enjoy

Thank you so much for your design. I fly a flag like this one at home for my two daughters who are serving in the army. My flag has two stars, but I can use this one for a few of my friends. Thanks again.

No, THANK YOU for your valuable contribution to our country for your daughters' service. I can't even begin to imagine how it would be to be a mother of our service men and women. I would be happy to make a two star version, but it would have to be a 5 X 7 hoop. PM me if you would like it. (Or anyone else would actually be able to use it!)

Thank you. Like many who have commented I have a son in the Marines (currently in Okinawa) and a SIL in the Air Force (currently stationed at RAF Mildenhall, England). My father (87) served in Okinawa and was recalled for service in the Korean Conflict. He has Alzheimer's now and about all he remembers is serving in the WWII. Becky

I had a blue star flag for our son also and thankfully he came home safe. I was almost afraid to display it though. I trembled every time I looked at that flag. He is just over 3 years left till his 20th year in the military. He knew from the age of about 4(he is 35 now)what he wanted to do and he has done it. We are proud of him and also of all the other young men and women we have met through him who are serving their country. To all the other military moms and dads, thank you for the service of your children and to those who have given their all, honor and respect to you.

Thank you, so very much, for all you have sacrificed by giving of your time with your son, so he could serve our country. I appreciate not just his service, but yours as well. Without our military we would not enjoy the freedoms we have. WE pray for our military every day, that God will bring them safely home to their families.
