Ronny,
So glad you are able to give them something on the blessed day coming up. I think you are leaps and bounds ahead of the grandparents who do not take the time to put some thought and love into what they give as gifts. You have the right idea in what you are doing. Your grandchildren are very blessed and will appreciate the time and effort you put forth to make sure they have something on Easter. Everyone seems to be suffering lately and I'm glad that I am creative enough to be able to make things for my grandchildren. If they are anything like mine, it means more to them to get something grandma put her heart into than something anyone else could have. Although my oldest granddaughter is only 6 she is quick to exclaim "my grandma made this for me, and no one has one quite like it" with the biggest grin on her little face. The love you put into what you select or make for them will shine through, most kids could care less about the cost, and those that do are very spoiled and uneducated in the love being put forth my the gift giver, and the reason for the season at hand.
You're right us memas have to stick together my whole family will be together Easter Sunday something that hasn't happened in quite a few years i usually get the day before or the day after so the in -laws get thier time but this year they are all mine I'm very pleased.
I just went and got 2 very small easter baskets for the grands, 1 1/2 and a 2 1/2 year olds....I bought bubbles to help play with them....coloring books with big easter animals (yes they are young, but they write on things anyway). some plastic eggs to hide, small candies...a plastic colored ball for the littelest one...still gonna shop....
Chase is 12 so they have really cool looking guys necklaces with crosses at walmarts...Wyatt being 9 probably likes things he can construct with (at least most of the foster boys we get at that age do)..McGuire would probably like cars or trucks to play with...Audrey would probably like a baby doll with an easter dress made up..Simon might like the colored ball idea...they have them with glitter inside so its really cool to turn it around....Have fun....
So good to hear from you All good ideas. Not so much worried about smaller ones but the ides for Chase is great. Thanks
Don't know why but you always give me a lift ( God knows I need it today)
They will like what you did for them because you spent time making something special for each of them. It doesn't always have to be about the candy. Got pretty lucky with my two kids ~ they didn't care much for candy. What they did like was me making an easter egg hunt to their baskets. I would start with the empty plastic eggs that I shrink wrapped the fancy Easter designed plastic sleeves around. Made a trail of these from each bedroom to a basket with a new summer toy and sunglasses and hid others just for them to see how many they could find. Then they would sit and play with the plastic eggs for a while counting them to see who got the most. Stored them for the following year. When I thought they were too old for the hunt just stopped doing it. I think what they liked was the time spent making something fun for them to look forward to each Easter.
I know what you mean and it's not the kids that mind it's me. Trying to keep up with the other grandparents I guess. How vain is that. We will have a good time no matter what. You have a great day.
I think theses are great ideas, better than the chocolats and personal. Hope you find the easter food. I am sorry I can't help.
I found it I thnk it will be cute for the little ones. ( they don't share well) LOL Thanks
Hi Ronny,
I've brought to page 1 on DESIGNS BY CUTIES a great applique by PIEBALDBULLY it is an egg applique. What I would do is put another piece of felt (but cut it down from the top so that you could pop something inside it) just on before the final satin stitch. You could then use it like a little holder put in a little chocolate egg, or a coin or something that your grandchildren would like.
Just thought it would be a great idea. I've just bought some beautiful Easter Treat Bags and I'm going to make them for our grandchildren. Love Chris
It would be good to put a few dollars in for the big boys. Thanks Chris I do wish you were alittle closer. Have a great day
