There are many reasons. One I am so busy that although I check in and check msg and posts I find a lot very boring. Who wants to constantly be requested to vote for fonts that have just been given. And sometimes many people request the same letter. So for those who wait an age (most who dial-up) cant't be bothered. Imagine you waiting 30 - 45 mins and all the posts are requests for fonts! It just is not worthwhile. But then if you don't check in you may miss something exciting!
Hugs and flowers for all.

Sue, Sues answer I think pretty much covers it. I wonder also if people haven't been on for a long time forget their used name and password so they just creat a new one. Who knows?
Sue, I think it is kind of a biorhytum wave thing, some people stay, some come, some go, some visit on terms and some get interested in other things. Stay on the top of the wave ;-)

When I started here last year I wrote down all the avatar names and personal names. When I look through the names now there are very few of what I call the 'original' names. I also wonder why.
I would love to have been here in the beginning, and even now have noticed that there are names missing and I have only been hers since Jan. I know myself I am going through a patch where I just can't be bothered. Haven't done any sewing for almost a week. Sad to see my flowers haven't moved since yesterday either. Lyn
I also feel we have lost a lot of the original cuties. I do try to keep in touch with them in other ways. The site has changed over the years sometimes for the better and sometimes not. It is not just an embroidery site now but I would hate to loose the freindships I have formed here over the years
I joined quite awhile ago but never was able to post or show my projects in that times as I was taking care of my ill mother, working, the usual life stuff. I've had a little more time lately and have been able to post some and actually get a few projects posted. It seems like that is what happens you think you will never stop coming to a favorite site then life gets in the way and you sort of get out of the habit. But new people joining in isn't all bad, it keeps things fresh.
There are still just a few of us left that have been here almost since the very beginning Sue. A few still have memberships only they do not do any posting. A lot has happened since the very beginning & a lot work n0w so have little time to keep households sew & embroidery & stay on cute. We keep in touch via emails maybe once or twice a month. I myself have an invalid hubby, keep a great grandchild & still do a lot of sewing & embroidery but do not have a lot of time for posting. I only have Dial up & it will take 30 mins to just get through 1 page of projects. Time just doesn't stand still for us I'm sorry to say./Lillian
People come and go - off and on - here one day - gone the next - life happens - not sure that there is an answer to your question for sure. It really matters not - as long as the ones that are here now - enjoy what the site has to offer - don't you think?
I forget to take a pic, then have given the item away before I remember!! Also, I don't post the things I've had on there before. But do like to check out everyone else's projects! Waiting on my slow daughter to take a pic of my grands in the Easter dresses I made! I do the machine wk, she does the handwork, like hems. Promise to put em up!
I know some probably had health issues. So many who embroider are older. Younger folks are raising families and can't afford the expensive machines. It is very sad to think some members can no longer share with us.
Hi Sue, have been thinking this too. Have just come in from gardening to download my free fonts as I was unable to get some the other day. It has taken a age to get here as I was timed out twice. Is this one of the reasons Cuties leave? or does a virus take over and one actually gets down to sewing out the designs one has so carefully collected? Just thinking of names not seen recently is Dianned from East Yorks. Perhaps you will get a ex cutie replying saying why they dont come as much ...
Congratulations on the 11,000 flowers
I sent Dianne an email the other day (to wish her a happy birthday) but I haven't had a reply.
