GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP)— A 17-year-old was killed in a crash on Highway 62 in Guilford County on Tuesday.

Lynette Alexis Langley, of Davis Mill Road, Randleman, died after pulling into the path of a commercial truck at the Highway 220 south off-ramp around 5:25 p.m., troopers said.

According to the crash report, the truck crashed into the driver's side, and both vehicles traveled 140 feet before coming to rest on top of a concrete divider.

Langley was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where she died. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The crash report said Langley was turning onto Hwy. 62 eastbound, while the truck was traveling westbound at 40 mph at the time of the crash.

Langley attended CrossPoints Church in Greensboro. Church members said Langley was very active in the church's youth program.

The church posted a message on Facebook on Wednesday:

"We are all deeply touched by the passing of Lynette Langley who was an active, "on fire for God" youth in our church. Visitation will be here at CrossPoint Church Monday April 25 from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. Funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm in the Worship Center. A graveside service will be be at the conclusion of the service at Guilford Memorial Park.

This is just every parent's nightmare, isn't it? I'm so sorry you were there to witness the aftermath, Devon. I can't even imagine how the driver of the truck must feel, and how he will carry that with him for the rest of his life. It wasn't his fault, and yet it changed his life. So sad. It is good to know she was strong in her faith. Maybe you might feel a little better if you sent a card. We love you, Devon, and so sorry you have to go through this. ((( hugs ))) Jan

I know how traumatic it is to arrive on the scene of this type accident. I pray for god to give you peace of mind. This is so tragic & so much is going on in this world today. I just got word that a dear friend who used to work with me & is only in her 50s was shot 8 times & killed by her husband who was dying with Ca & despondent. she was a mother & grandmother, a fine person whom you would never believe something of this nature could happen to.

A lot of the big cities are putting up an enclosure around accident sites to stop the rubbernecking/gawking and causing more accidents. Sorry you had to see that mess. Prayers for her family ~ this is so tragic.

I just read your other postings. This is so sad - I know that area well - from when we lived in Greensboro. I do hope that you are doing better today and that you know - that there have been many prayers said for the families of the girl and the driver of the truck - along with you and yours.
