Alice what a fabulous idea..
I purchased a 25cm x 1000cm in black online
and they sent me the 250cm x 1000cm by accident I thought it was a roll of carpet on first sight..
First of all I thought what a lucky touch..
but then i found it so hard to manage,, but when My husband gets home from work I will show him your photo.. lol..
thank you big hugs from London

You so lucky to have much space. Guess if we all got organi\sed would find the space!
I just bougt some tear away for R2.50 a metre, that's about three metres for a dollar. The cut away was only 50cm or 20inch wide but got 5 metres for a dollar. We're quite lucky here in PE.South Africa, we have a shop that manages to get factory over runs and we benefit from the prices!

All that complaining you do about your DH (lol) and he still is looking out for you and making your embroidery easier. You have a nice big space to work in. This must be the result of all that hard work organizing you did a few weeks ago?
Yes I know, When my sons were here it was a nightmare, there was just to many men in this house. It is much more pleasant now.
How is it working out for your daughters since they moved in with their sisters?
My daughter just grunts when I ask her, I think her brothers are always in earshot.
OH ALICE HOW LOVELY WAS THE ROLL COSTLY??I HAVE A HUNDRED FOOT ROLL BUT ITS ONLY 16 INCHES WIDE I BOUGHT IN TORONTO WITH THE SHIPPING IT WAS $75. DOLLARS .CAROLYN
Carolyn the roll is just over a meter wide. it was $74 AUD I got it from a local marathon dealer who sells in bulk which was perfect for me. and I must correct myself is i s 100 meters not 74 so it was 74 cents per meter.
Great idea!
I have been wanting a gift wrap paper stand that will hold 3 or 4 rolls so they can just be torn off using the built-in cutter. I saw the setup attached to a wall at a class I attended and it was fantastic.

Great idea Alice-wish I had the room for an extra table-I actually did basically the same thing with a roll of iron-on stabilizer(10"X 100yds.)-from threadart.I used a bungee where you have your chain and it hooks onto a clothes rod. I also tied a pc. of wired ribbon about 18"ribbon to the bungee with a pair of scissors attached to cut the backing- ~linda~
I have a double garage which is fabulous, I spent the Easter weekend getting very organised. I even got my filing and accounting done. Now I might actually get around to some digitizing, it has been a while.
Great idea! I finally took 2 days and cut mine to fit my hoop sizes and now have 3 foot piles everywhere. You might want to throw a few of those dehumidifier packets into your WSS drawer. I just take them from my shoe boxes and vitamin bottles and toss into my zip lock bags with mine.;)
great ideas Jerrilyn-cutting the pcs to size sure would save alot of time. I like your packets idea too for the WSS-especially with summer humidity-I will have to start saving my pkts. or maybe get one of those damp rid containers for it. I love learning all these hints and tips!
Good idea and I'm jealous :o) (wanna have the roll and the place *lol*).
Greetings, Bettina
.... :} Hi Alice,
This is a brilliant idea. Stabilisers can be a real cow to store neatly and reasonably unobtrusively.
Is your table chipboard or plastic or something else? Mine's one of those blown plastic tables
Do you use other stabilisers, too? Will your husband create hanging spaces for them? Can't very well hang WSS, though, especially in Queensland, if it is as humid as I remember it.
Tell your husband that I think he's done a marvellous job for you.
It looks like his way of sharing your embroidery joy with you.
AlmaG.
Hi Alma, Yes I use others but I use more cutaway because I do so many polos for businesses. so I just have small rolls of the others and I store them in a drawer. Queensland is not only still humid but it never seems to stop raining lately. I don't have much trouble with my washaway, it seems to be fine in the drawer.
Lucky you-such a handy idea! Wish I had one of those rolls.
her is the pic
Alice, this is a great idea! I have a few rolls that are about half this length, and I have been standing them on one end of my table to wind off a section to cut, but it is awkward. This puts the roll out of the way, and easier to pull and cut!
Angel
Angel-when I first got my roll of stabilizer-the 10"X100yd. I kept it on a stand beside my work area too and did like you do-then it feel off one time-landed on my foot-glad I had clogs on at the time and I made up my mind from that time on-the big roll gets put up like a roll of paper towel and the smaller rolls, pkgs and sheets go in the plastic storage drawers. I started doing this about a year ago and keeps it all up and out of the way but easily accessible.
