Laura, I am so proud of you for wanting to adopt a child. I am an adopted child, but I was 4 before I had a permanent home. I was a throw away child left alone by an alcoholic father and a prostitute mother. I am so thankful for my parents who raised me, no one else could have been the mom and dad that they were. Laura, it is great that you only want God's will done in this case. When we pray for His will, we must be able to except it which ever way He choices to work in our lives. I pray that if this isn't the little one for you that you will find comfort in God and wait upon Him. When God says to wait He has our best interest at heart. Laura, Bless your heart, this has to be the hardest time for you. Please know that God has your baby picked out for you, and if this is the one, nothing will prevent you from having him or her. I know you know that already. It must be so difficult waiting and waiting.
