4-26-11 * Does anyone know what type of grease oil that is used in sewing machines? One is orange looking and the other is putty looking. TIA ;D

Grease and Oil are like Butter and Pancake Syrup. Two different commodities with same base -- Oil.
Presume you are referring to Lithium Grease. Kleen-Flo is a producer. Colour denotes temperature use--white for lower. Usually range is printed on container. Either should work.

I don't know the proper name but when you look into a machine; it's usually a putty type color in the newer machines with a texture of pudding ;D *2U

When I was young and bought my first machine I used 3 & 1 oil and over a period of time it finally locked up and it could not be fixed....I have used the clear oil you find in Fabric Store and have not had a problem.
