I purchased a design online and test stitched it on a towel not quite as plush and with the size decreased. It seemed to sew out fine. When I sewed the design in it's original size without changes it sank into the towel and did not cover well. I used water soluble stabilizer on top and did not hoop the towel.

Welcome to Cute. There are some designs done by Castelyn on Designs by Cuties (free area) which are intended for towels.
Hope this helps.

I use an embroidery topping film which is a thin plastic that is water soluble. No need to hoop the film, just lay it on top. It is specifically designed to prevent stitches from sinking into your fabric. Hope this helps! Charla

I use a cutaway on the bottom with wss on top. Here is a site for some more helpful hints. I do not hoop my towels either. If the towel is REAL plush, you may want two layers of wss on top or at least a heavier one.

I use an iron on cut away stabilizer on the bottom and a sheet of solvy on the top. I never have a problem.
Some like to use a tear away on towels because they like the "clean" look on the back but it really doesn't hold up well. You can cut the cut away within an 1/8 of an inch and your design will stay better after washing.

Welcome to "cute" Suzedillon. No you should not have to change the settings. If the towel is very thick you could use 2 layers of wss on top. You should post a picture of both towels to the site where you purchased it from, and mention what has happened. Hugs Yvonne

With a very plush towel, you might try using tuell to keep the design from sinking. It will stay on the towel and keep all the little loops down. It is easy to rip off after the design is done stitching. Good luck with the next one.Don't give up.

My first thought was Water soluble stabelizer on top & see you did that. I have used that plastic like topping that comes in several colors but it is a pain to get it away from the edges.Hope you didn't ruin your good towel!
