It is an all you can eat free buffet. Take what you like and leave the rest on the table.
Sure hope that you will stay! I love this place and the people here! I have gotten such good advice here and solved so many problems about embroidery. I get answers from Utah to Australia to South Africa to England!
I just signed up for my second membership! Miss Veronika is always giving us new designs to download.
Even though I do buy from other sites she still has the best deal out there in design world. Once again I hope you stay and see that you will love the site as much as I do and so many other very sweet and kind people do!
Hugs Dawn
Oh my gosh... I have just finally had a minute to get back here..and I have to admit I was very surprised to read all the comments... WOW.. I guess my first thing to say is THANK YOU..
then to "timetells" who stated that I was not who I said I was...

I also suspect Char042011 is NOT a newbie either, but merely seeking to hide her identity, for which I also do not blame her. There are a few members on this site whom are bullies and seek to rule, they like things said and done their way, so much for freedom of speech etc!
I am whom I say I am... What would make you (timetells) state something like this ??
I found this site.. spent over 2+ hours reading and checking out all the headers..: Designs | Redwork | Alphabets | Lace | Applique | Cross Stitch Community,
public, freebies, personals, private Reviews Projects Bookmarks Designs By Cuties,,,
I usually do my home work before joining a site..I read posts and educated myself...about how the site works..
Do you state this about me because this is what you are doing ???
So.. timetells... are you really who you say you are ???
I will give you another example. My mom is in the hospital for high potassium. Anyways we always say thank you for every little thing the NA's do or nurses do for her. But they don't respond back with a you're welcome. That really hurts. It seems like they don't want to be working there. They can't even smile and make the patient feel good at all. This is so sad. I always say thank you to my kids at work no matter how much or how little they worked that day. People just don't care any more and that is very said. No wonder our Earth is like it is. Im speaking for around the world. Char I know I am who I say I am. I was brought up not to be mean or lie to anyone. When someone is rude I remind them they were once a newbie too, either on a site or at work. People forget they started at the bottom once too.
Hugs Char and have a great day or night.

I am glad you got back to us - but so upset by someone wondering if you are who you say you are - that just doesn't sound like most of the CUTE family - I don't recognize that name, either.
Hi Char, I think your first impression was right. Sometimes people write comments without thinking how they may be perceived, especially out of context. Sometime tiny spats happen, but that's all they are - LOL. Cuties is a huge, wonderful family with lots of personalities and sometimes feet stuck in mouths. But 99% of the time it is the absolute BEST place on the web for people who are real, who live, love and learn from each other, who give lots of support, love machine embroidery and who have a little extra of themselves to share with others. Are we perfect? Nope but we are very real! Warning though - Cuties is addictive! Welcome! Give us a Second Chance and I think you'll be glad you did! Jan - I"m one of the cat lovers here.
I had a similar experience at another site - I said thank you after downloading free designs and was chastised for doing so. I had no idea it was bringing old posts to the top. It was also insinuated that saying thanks was a form of marking which designs had been taken. If only I was savy enough to think like that! LOL I was brought up to say thank you and thought it rude not to do so. (I still occasionally catch myself being thankful - and have to hold myself back.) Anyway, I kept returning to the site and after awhile caught on to how things work. I use what I learned there, at this and other sites and have found this to be one of the friendliest places to visit . Hang in there and welcome :-)
Oh my.. what has this world come to if you can not thank a fellow human being ???
I was brought up the same way...."to always show appreciation"....
Char
Being one of the "oldtimers around here i would like to say Welcome. You have had quite a lot of responses you can see from the most part these are wonderful people. We are a family, we care about one another & want to help in any way we can no matter how large or small the problem is. You will find here a wonderful comaraderie. Listen to what they all have to say & stay with us. I have said so many times Cute Embroidery is the best the Internet has to offer. If you stay around a while you will find this out for yourself. We are definitely worth you giving us a chance/Lillian
Please, do not worry about that, things like this happen specially when most of us are females, feel free to download and ignore bad comments. It really does not bother to the mayority of us, that been here longer, just come visit and stay happy. Hugs.
Hello Char and welcome! I love this place and I know you will too. Mary
Welcome. It really is a nice place with lots of opportunity to interact and collect many nice designs.
I feel some just lack manners... I personally feel sorry for them. Keep in mind that posting in an open forum is not like speaking to someone face to face and some are just plain rude. Not to mention sometimes people are generally being helpful and it doesn't totally sound that way and can be taken out of context. I have read plenty of things where I couldn't tell what their opinion was. Wendi
I have to 2nd that - it is so hard to tell the "tone" with typed communication.
I have sometimes felt there may be a few "militant" and rude comments but just ignore them as you do some of your real life friends! Overall the site is very nice and I have enjoyed getting the good hints, designs, etc.
Just seeing your post. I think our group has described us well to you, and I really didn't stop other than to say, Welcome and I'm REALLY glad you are here.;)
Cuties, you are the best. Im proud of our friendship. You are my family, you are so different and so beautiful.
Welcome Char to Cute Community.
Love, Veronika
Veronika, you are such a great owner - we really wouldn't have anything without you - you created this for all of us. Thank you!
The thing is that the older ones are more than likely no longer free! Usually they're offered for a day or so. And it's a total waste of time, your's also, to go to a site to get a free design that hasn't been there for months. That's why they should be deleted after a month, IMHO The way to stop bringing them to the top is if they're old, just hit the flower button, and don't post anything.
Sorry, WELCOME. I found this place a while ago and it's super.
Char welcome to "cute" Hope the responds that you have gotten to your post, shows how we all feel about each other. Hugs Yvonne
It is a great site, ask a question and members usually have the answer within minutes. I take all the good things and each day I am grateful for all the FREE information and designs. The members are truely a giving group. Giving direction on how something on the site is to be done is a part of that giving. I regret if you were offended by someone's comment and don't believe anyone would intentionally cause you discomfort.
How is that for a response?
Are you going to stick around?
Yes, it is a great place.
Welcome! I also must say there is nothing wrong with checking out the old posts. We do need an explanation somewhere on the flowers, etc. I had downloaded a bunch of designs when I first joined. When I finally found out what the flower was for, I felt so guilty, I went back and added the flowers in for all the designs. At least I can say thank you for the artists hard work and generosity.
Since I am not the experienced myself, I search for all kinds of information to create the designs. I learned a lot from this site.
I do feel that some of the members could be kinder in their criticism.
As a new embroiderer I had no idea some designs were illegal. If I could buy them, how can they be illegal?
I hope you continue to enjoy the site and your new machine!
I can relate exactly to what Char is saying and I suspect she is referring to the the post started by lflanders. For those of you whom have not read it I have cut and pasted it below.
Not that it makes any difference to me, I also suspect Char042011 is NOT a newbie either, but merely seeking to hide her identity, for which I also do not blame her. There are a few members on this site whom are bullies and seek to rule, they like things said and done their way, so much for freedom of speech etc!
Quite frankly I have taken on board the answers to this post, but what members do not seem to be able to comprehend is that as a 'Newbie' there is much to learn here and finding one's way round can be difficult, without learning everything else. This as with everything takes time and many mistakes are made on the journey! Whilst I also appreciate the time the three veterans put to making it easy for others to find new designs, this only helps those who know their way round.
As you read the response's to lflanders post you will also notice there are grips and groans about members just creating post full of nonsense or doubling up on questions merely to gain flowers. Well so what if they do, obliviously these members like flowers or receiving them for what ever reason, if this makes them happy so be it_______ As most veterans keep informing us 'this site is full of loving forgiving, helpful, kind wonderful, understanding christian folk,' surely if this is the case, then why condemn those whom seek comfort in whatever shape or form________even flowers?
Now lets sit back and read the response to this post! It will be interesting I am sure.

lflanders 12 days ago+35I have a very off the wall question... Where/why did all of the old free post, dated 2009 pop up from today on the 2nd and 3rd page of the freebies???? What causes it to go back in time? Is
someone going back and pulling them out? Will that cause them to re-appear in with the new post? My computer moves so slow.... and when I click on one of those pages, it takes it forever to get back to the right place in time. Needless to say.. I am all out of sorts right now! I was trying to get through for right now so I could go to town. I think I just need to walk away and leave this machine right now!!!

Answers (14)sort by: | | by castelyn 11 days ago+5Well Linda, I see you got your answer.
This is why I click on the flower when it is 1st posted and I have read it/looked at it. So when ever it comes up again I can see the colour of the flower and I just skip it. I do this for projects, community and freedies. I only click on the "Designs by Cuties" if I have downloaded the design. Hugs Yvonne

This is exactly what I do Yvonne. If you have given them a flower you know you have read it because of the color of the flower/Lillian

by marleymoo 11 days ago+4I understand totally what you are all saying, Gateway problems, time constrainsts, etc etc.
But the reason these posts reappeared is because someone left a (hopefully) positive message of thanks to the digitizer.
And isnt that what the comment section is for after all?
When I came here first I didnt understand the family/friend aspect to the website and downloaded a good few free designs....and as I became familier with everyone and "felt the lovin", began to feel guilty as if I had nearly stolen the designs because I didnt leave comments.
I dont think we should give out about someone leaving comments for digitizers, unfortunately the down side to it is that the post is returned to the top.
We just have to accept that as part of our beloved website as we cannot do anything to change it, only the owners can.
I know its a pain for people that have a slower connection to wait on pages to load only to see designs they already have and for people that dont have to much time to trawl through the pages, but at the end of the day, these designs are offered free by digitizers, and I personally dont mind having to wait to find them....how many of us go on websites where you have to "Hunt" for design...thats time consuming to!
In regard to the flowers, I to see certain people that answer every single post and post some real silly questions and I to think its just to get flowers, and in my opinion, I just leave them off! If thats what they wanna do, so be it, they are not earning my respect and I wont let them get me down. I also see some people that have been here for years that dont leave one single flower for some people... works both ways I suppose!
So to finish (a lobger than anticapated reply!) ... why not let us welcome newbies and their comments and be happy for them that they have found this wonderful site, as they probably dont even know that they have upset anyone.
Have a great day everyone !!!

I think we are mixing up two things by now: the freebie postings and the free designs in DbC.
It would be great if the freebie postings could be taken off after a couple of days (most of them are temporary any way).
And it would be nice if all freebie postings happened under the freebie tab. But every request seems to fall on deaf ears!

Hi Marge - the worst case for me was when a member of a Cutie had died. Several months later it was commented on which was so embarrassing as it must have been painful for the person to be reminded again of their loss. I just wish that people would look at the date of the original posting. Sarah.
by mranderson 11 days ago
Sarah, some of these new Cuties are still learning how the site works. They will not know unless someone tactfully informs them not to leave comments regarding old posts or freebies Marg.

There is a great many of them pulled out from 2009. I wonder if a new Cutie found them and did not realize they were old post? It sure has thrown me off a very tight schedule today! I do not usually get in a hurry but there happens to be several things I need to take care of today. I am normally real patient..just not today! Thanks
by airyfairy 11 days ago
I am sure that is exactly what happens. I wish that the Cuties would look at the date that it was originally posted.

by jofrog2000 12 days ago+9I have a pet peeve with the freebie postings. People have been requested to put multiple links in one posting. Not happening. People do not take the time to look back a few pages to see if something has already been posted. There are times that the same thing is on 3 times. Or they just say-new to me-instead of what and where it is. Sigh. There are 3 super people giving us daily lists of places to check which is a real time saver-love you guys.

I agree too and I do love the lists that our 3 ladies in know have for us daily too. Not saying I don't check out some of the others, but I am very selective anymore-there have been so many "new to me" that you have jump thru hoops to look at or join a group to sneak a peek-forgot that.
Another pet peeve-new folks coming in saying they missed something on cute emb. or amazing and wanting voting to get them back up-I'm sorry- but that is why I have subscriptions to these-so I don't have to pester everyone to vote to bring things back up that I missed- If cute alpha. ever does the subscription I would get that one too.....sorry-I do go on, don't I lol.

The 'found a new site' posts have been rather annoying lately as when you click through you find it is an old well known site which has been posted many times. Some days it takes forever to click back to where you were.

by lindalee757 12 days ago+10I know what you mean Linda-I asked the same thing awhile back-I think it was something that someone had pulled up from 2008-it started a whole new run. I don't think some people look at the date. It can really get confusing sometimes.
Hope you day gets better for you after you go to town. ~linda~ oh
P.s.-You know what else I think is happening. Now that some people have figured out this flower thing-posting questions and comments adds them up-they just go nuts posting everything and anything-and these are not just people that JUST joined the site-there is one in particular that I have noticed is just being rediculous in all her posting-she even goes to the extent of submitting a question or comment 2 or 3 times-sometimes just wording it a little different-to get everyone to send comments & flowers back to her.-

This flower thing is really starting to annoy me. I come here to visit with my embroidery friends and to learn! Would some still come if their flowers were taken away? I'm starting to think not. Carol
by lindalee757 12 days ago
I hear ya Carol-I was just thinking that last week-mean or sad as it is to say-I have actually gotten to the point that there are some people that I absolutely refuse to even acknowledge-for anything they put up-it reminds me of that annoying kid at school that would always jumped up and down with their hands in the air saying oooo pick me, pick me-
give me a break-lets get back to the friendly visits and talent and quit with the lets see who can post the most and top the "flowers" chart. By the way-I am sending one your way just because ~smiles~ linda

Could I ask for patience instead??? heehee Or maybe that some of the cuties would stick with posting multiple designs all at once instead of posting one at a time. If you do not have but one, okay but if you have several it would be very considerate to post them all together! I get kicked off of here enough as it is with the gateway thingy! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! It would make it easier than opening several different post and all of them slow because of the traffic online!!!! That way we could all have more time to sew the designs after we collect them.

When I checked out the freebies as anewbies I started at the back and thought if I downloaded something I ws expected to say thank you. Later I decided I would wait until I used the design so I could commnet on how well it worked for me. It never dawned on me it would be a porblem and I'm sure it didn't to the people who commented. I now just give a flower to the ones I downloaded so I know what I have already. And looks like I will privately PM the digitizes if I have questions or requests on older designs.
by mops 11 days ago
A comment AFTER stitching it is appreciated more than thank you when downloading. It's nice to know it is actually used, not just collected! Moreover, I usually test in one of the 3 formats my different machines use (vip or hus, pes and jef) and trust the other formats are just as good (or bad), but it is nice to know for sure.

by sewfrenzie 11 days ago+5If you leave a flower it stays on the page you found it, however if you express you like or ask for another format or size it pops to the top, no matter how old it is. Usually it doesn't stay there long though. I have always given flowers for the ones I down load. And after using them then leave a comment on how it comes out. I thought thats what the comments where for. I really appreciate the talent of our digitizers and wish I understood my program enough to digitize my own stuff and share it with others. Just to share it, not to gain flowers.

by sewlikedawn 12 days ago+8This happened to me awhile back. But it was in General posts. I was reading the new posts and clicked to go to the next page and as I was reading I glanced up and the date was 2008! I thought what is going on? I scroll down and the number of pages went from page 1 only to page 22!
Because the pages are listed in advance of only four pages at a time. I couldn't even have clicked on the wrong date. I had answered some posts in that time frame! I have no idea what happened! Very strange!
When I clicked on page 1 again it fixed the number of pages. 1 to 2719 pages.
This was right after Miss Veronika was having problems with the site.

This was great! I think I finally have an inkling of what is going on. I thought that every time an old design showed up in designs by cuties it was because it was re-posted by the designer and they just wanted to keep their design on top. (Sorry digitizers for thinking you were so narcissistic.) I found it annoying, but learned to live with it. It would be much easier to search for old designs if they only showed up once. I too have learned to use the flowers not just to thank digitizers, but to keep track of what I have downloaded. It would be nice if this information could be posted prominently on website so all newbies could easily find out how things worked. It would make things so much easier for all of us. I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie. Thanks everyone for clarifying this issue.
WELCOME!!!! There is nothing wrong with a newbie checking out all the freebie postings, some of which are still available; just take note of when it was posted (there will be a date beside the posters name)and if it is an old post then a "thanks" will bring the posting to the front. Once you get accustomed to the "ropes" you will find this to be a WONDERFUL site with very friendly people and very knowledgeable and willing to help with any problem, not just sewing either. This site is totally supportive and VERY theraputic for all aspects/problems in life. You can vent here without worry, share your triumphs and tribulations and receive encouragement and sympathy when needed. Please enjoy your time here,it's well worth it.
Very true and interesting response. But a Newbie would not know to check the date straight away, nor the consquence being polite and saying thank you. Perhaps this site should come with guide lines, that would be helpful.
Welcome to the group! I know that you will enjoy the site , the designs and the people as soon as you get to know us. We are like family here and all you have to do is ask a question and someone will come along to answer you. We have a great group of ladies and a few guys who enjoy what they do and share alot of knowledge with everyone. Hope you stick around. Every individual that has an interest in machine embroidery, sewing, and general crafts can learn alot from some of the more seasoned "crafters"! Once the old daily files are stored they are "dead files". The dailies are posted daily and expire when the day is gone. There are alot of sites that give free designs that change on a regular basis but they are upgraded as the new designs are available and they too are also referred back to on most of the daily post. They are kept current. We have very many members that hunt and search daily also and post their findings when they run up on a new site or an old site with new designs. They are sometimes mentioned in the daily freebies also. Several of the very nice members very nicely decided to help all of us by posting the dailies for us. We have 3 that are regulars and they are all from different countries. That help us find designs that we might not of ever run across. Sissi, Gerry, and Sewmom try very hard to locate all of the designs that are available. Almost every individual here will let everyone know when they find a new design and some days it will be posted by very many that ran across the same designs on their own. We thank all for their effort by giving them flowers. They also love to see it in writing sometimes that their efforts have not been in vain. BUT that is only a small part of what goes on here. We laugh and we cry with our friends and say prayers when they are needing extra strength. This is a support group along with being a group who love to embroider! Alot of us know the names of members grands from across the oceans. We share alot! WELCOME!
It is ok. Like any other site we have some who type before thinking. No apology needed.
Like every area of life you will always find Some People who are Always Right and know Everything that there is to know !! I have had my ups and downs and have learnt just to accept that there are some people who, as someone else has said ,are "freebie administrators" There are also some of us who do not mind you saying thanks and are willing to click the pages button and look for current freebies that are maybe a little further down in the list of the many that are so kindly given to us. I do not think that you should take this too personally, nor should any other newbie - ignore it (if you can) and just visit whenever you want to - there are a lot of tolerant and helpful people in this group !!!
Welcome to cute. Please stay awhile and get to know us. Cindy B.
Welcome! click on the flower to give a flower to others! See your garden grow!
I beleive everyone has said what needs to be said, so will welcome you to cute and hope you stick around we are a great bunch of people with many talents and experience. Hugs Lisa
Car, WELOCME to the CUTE family - I have been watching the post in the forum for a few days and hardly go to the freebie section - so I am not sure what has been said - other than your question and the comments here to that question. I can remember one day last week when there were some delays on the website and if I remember right - somone said something about some older posts coming to the front of the area - if that was what happened and it was something to do with the server and the post were not brought up by anyone through a comment - I do believe that you would have someone quesiton - what was going on - if that wasn't the case and someone saw an older posting and commented on it - I see nothing wrong with that - but if I read some of the replies to your question - it seems as if a member was trying to comment on the fact that the older post for a freebie wasn't available any longer - please don't view this as a criticism - as that is not my intent - I have seen lots of people have trouble understand how to navigate around the site - when it was new - it wasn't as busy - nor were there alot of people that made comments - but now it is a very busy site and there are a few people that have tried to help the process - on a daily basis with their postings and when they see an older post come forward - they might may want to help anyone else viewing it to know that it may not still be current. All the post - have a time on them - most never ever look at it - I love that it is there - I like how we can mark what we have read - by giving a flower - by also thanking the person that posted it and commenting on their post and that comment can also receive a flower for it, as well. There are many sections of this website - but the biggest thing that this website has to offer - is the love and friendship's of the CUTE family - that will be instantly seen and felt. I don't think it was by chance - that you came to this site - you may or may not stay - but I do hope that you do - the CUTE family is just that - a family and we have many charactors and members - we are from all walks of life and from around the world. We hope that with as many replies as you have received from this posting - you have also seen - that we hurt when you hurt - we laugh when you laugh - we cry when you cry - we give answers to quesitons - we try really hard to keep each other happy and that everyone feels welcome - so I am hoping that you give us another chance and that you keep coming back and that you become a big part of the CUTE family - through your posts and your comments - along with your projects that you might share or with your questions you might ask. WELCOME to the CUTE family and we are so glad that you are here.
Thank you Shirlene! Well said with proper explaination. I would hate to think that anything we said about the old post would scare off new members. I was a member for a very lontime before I ever said a word. I lurked and got the feel of what was going on long before I ever posted a single comment.
Hoping this will bring Shirlenes message back to the top as it makes complete sense!
I have been watching this topic all day and have finally decided to say something. Firstly welcome to cute. I feel you have misunderstood something. Which is to be expected when we are communicating in writing and many different languages. 99.9% of cuties are the most wonderful people you could wish to know. There are one or two that are a bit abrasive, but Sewmom is NOT, I repeat NOT one of them. What she was trying to explain is that the posts under the freebies tab are to notify of the current free designs, this changes, a design may be free this week and not next week. So if you "bump" the old posts to the top by making a comment it confuses people. I think that as a newbie you may not realise that sewmom and gerryvb are here every single day posting a bunch of links to the current freebies, this is an amazing commitment on their part and they do it out of the goodness of there hearts (they don't get paid) so it is not surprising that they would like to keep that part of the site in order. I feel they have earned that right. As far as the public tab, Well I think you can "bump" whatever you like. Please don't think I am intending on being harsh. I really am not a harsh person, if I were talking face to face with you, you would understand my intentions better, this is the problem with written communications. So Char, you are not wrong this is a free forum site, and you can comment on what you like but now that you understand the hard work put in by a couple of the cuties you should perhaps avoid doing that on the freebies tab.
I hope that my opinion does not make the situation worse as my intentions are not to offend in any way.
Alice.
Welcome to cute Char and do not let something said upset you. This really is a great group as a whole.

Didn't read this post but had some times myself the problem that there were older posts come up at the top and the freebie was not longer avalaible (I was not the only cutie once searching an special elefant *lol*). My fault that I did not looked at the date of the original post... ;o)
You will find here people from all over the world (I'm from Germany> lousy school-english!) and get help no matter how late it is i your own country cause some cuties are always awake...
Greetings, Bettina

Hang in there, no one here will let you drown. Everyone has a bad day now and then but that's life. I've learned a lot here and expect to keep right on learning. I'm sure I've been considered a sour pickle myself at some time or another. lol
Welcome to you Char, you have here a very nice site, Every body here is helpful, and I have found here friends all around the world. We are not all english speaking native (I am french), and sometimes I have not the good words to say what I want to say.I have asked some questions and read many answers to questions of others Cuties, and I have learn so many things. In the tab" projects" I have found many ideas. It is marvelous not to be alone with this love of embroidey, and above all to find here a great communauty.Hugs, Claude
Welcome to Cute, don't be upset, this is a very nice site to be on. If you have any embroidery questions just ask and we have here some very knowledgeable people who are always willing to help. I have learned a lot just by reading the answers other people got to their questions. *4u
Hi Char,
We have some very committed freebie administrators - so this involvement maybe results in a feeling of power, because they invest so much time in it and the community is thankful! Oh, oopsie. ;-))
My idea was, that nobody thanks for a link that is not working. If someone says "thank you" for an old post I think it is still active and it is no shame to join sewmom, sewmom and sewmom at the top of the freebie tab with an old entry for some hours.
Greetings.
Welcome to the cutie site,Char. I trust you'll find the site a helpful resource for your sewing& quite addictive embroidery habit.I know I have to remember that everyone has a bad day so try not to be put off by those who say something negative.I'm hoping you'll continue to return here to get to know a group of fun& helpful people too.:~D
Welcome to the group! Don't be put off, sometimes someone gets their feathers ruffled but they mean no harm. You truly will love it here and get to know some of the members and enjoy your time and get lots of new designs and help from the members. Please give us a chance. Nothing wrong with commenting on an old post and bringing it to the top again. Some of us have never seen them before and others have seen them many times.
I know how you feel char and am releative new and am still going round in circles learning the ropes and navigating the sitei had lots of welcoming messages that made me feel special hope you feel this way soon just give it a go..........soozie
Welcome. Sorry if you were put off by some comments. Most of the time we are very friendly and helpful. In my defense:
I said "that are no longer connected to the free designs".(Some of the old posts that were brought up were not helpful so I don't know if the they were brought up on purpose or by a new Cutie that didn't quite understand how the replies work.) I realize that some of the old ones can be useful to newer Cuties. Please click on the flower and mark that you have already read it then you won't spend time re-opening an old post.
I would like to say welcome. Please stay awhile. This is a great place to be. Some wonderful people with great advice.
For the most part, you will find the Cuties on the forum to be very pleasant and helpful, but with every group there are ones that criticize. I was "chastized and/or criticized" a few weeks ago for simply asking if someone could direct me to some designs made by another cutie. It took me until yesterday to come back to the forum. Really though, the majority of the cuties are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I have just had to reteach myself the same lesson I teach my kiddos - some things you just have to let roll off! I hope you stick around to meet some of the really great Cuties on here!
Hi Please don't let one post change your mind about being here. There are a whole lot of wonderful people in here. They can answer almost any question you could come up with. If you are ever looking for a special design just ask in here and within a very short time someone will find it for you. It really is a great group with people from all over the world. Welcome to Cuties!!!
I agree with you Char. I am still new and learning, but for the ones who have been here is it wrong to bring up an old post? I wouldn't think so, to me it is great that others have looked past the new stuff and find old post and that they appreciate them. I enjoy looking through the 780 old post and the 350 designs. So is it so wrong to bring them to the top. My comment might not be on the track of others but I once said we didn't get a manual and we all learn from each other as if we were working in a factory we don't get the proper training. We learn from others and in a job the older employees are not always right because they do there own thing. Any ways just a comment.
Hugs to all of us new member and Hugs to all the ones who have been here before us.
Here you find a great and wonderful bunch of people from all over the world. Very helpful and caring like a family. But like most families once in a while a sqabble happens. Hang around and you will see that most questions you have will be answered by someone. You will be able to make some great friends if you give it a chance. So let me welcome you to this family. Angie
Hi there newbie. Welcome to Cuties. Please don't be put off by these comments and yes your first impressions were correct. It truly is a great site & you will meet many friends here who are only too happy to help you with any problems you might have with embroidery and many who give free designs for all to use. The best thing is to check the date of the posting you are reading & the say thankyou by clicking on the flower at the right hand corner. That way if it is an old posting it won't be taken to the top of the list. Viv
Well,I'm a Newbie, too and had no idea of what the "flower" meant until I asked a questions about the Lacey Celtic "T" and then like magic, Sewmom answered my post and then explained the design catalog and what the flowers meant! How else is one to know? I will keep comin' back and hopefully will get to know more about this site and it's contributors...
Welcome to Cute! I hope you will enjoy your time here! Sewmom is a great help to all of us! I am glad she explained it to you. Come by often and stay as long as you can! I am sure you will learn to love the site like most of us do! Linda
I guess you could call me a veteran or oldie. I've been here over 3 yrs so i qualify. When i saw the older posts popping up it did not concern me. Some were ones i had posted myself over 2 1/2 years ago. I know there is no way a newbie could of seen them. The ones who complained about the old posts, etc should step up and answer your question.
Bev
When I posted this I had 1 flower .... So... very new to this place...
Other members are reading your post and give you a flower by clicking the little green one next to your post. It turns orange letting you know it has been counted.
