We have a few more hours of this. There are deaths reported all over as well. Some low lying areas are predicted to have flooding up to 10 feet of water through Friday. There are probably many Cute followers in North Alabama. Stay safe.

No embroidery for me today. I don't dare turn on either machine with all the power blinks, etc. Just not worth the risk even though I have surge protectors and battery backups. Of course, any time I can't do embroidery there are several things I think of that I want to do. I can't do much but watch storm coverage on the television next to my computer screen. TVA just cut their power feed to the entire area of Madison Co. (Huntsville area) due to damage to TVA. The TV stations are operating on generators. They just reported that the entire town of Phil Campbell is leveled. This is terrible.

Keep us in your prayers.

I am going through old post, before the tornadoes on April 27th. We were without power for 9 & 1/2 days, so I missed alot. My son still doesn't have power. He lives near Trenton, Ga. We have been busy trying to help those with damage. I wish I could help more, I kept my Grandsons last week. The daycare opened back up today. And one school in this area is sharing their building with another school. Each school is doing a half day each, starting today, to finish out this school year. We need to keep praying for all in need. I think people forget where our help comes from.
May God help us all,
Jane
I forgot to say that I'm from Rainsville, Al. in Dekalb county, where there were 35 people killed.

I know how you feel. I too have been watching the news and it is horrible. I live in Weaver we lost power last night till around 8:30 this morning. OUr cable came back on after one this afternoon. But that is a minor thing compared to the destruction all over the state and other states. Praying for all the people affected by the storm. Glad your okay.

Marcelle, so glad you are safe. That system is the same one that wiped a couple towns off the map here in Arkansas. One subdivision has 120 houses and 16 are left standing and half of those are damaged. We were lucky that the storms went around us. We have no basement so we use our shower which is in the middle of the house. My little doggie got so excited thinking we were going for a walk everytime I grabbed his leash only to head for the shower each time the sirens went off. Now we are having flooding as it has rained for about a week. We had 14 inches of rain in 3 days and besides those who have lost their lives(including an 8 month old)to the tornados several people have been washed away do to the flooding. My machines have not been plugged in for over a week now because of all the storms. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate with taking care of the hubby and no electricity. God Bless you and those in your area.I hope it is done now.

That much rain is amazing in that short a time. So many people die when it floods like that. I happen to have ended up being in a strip in the northwest corner of AL that is not so bad. All around me is so horrible it is difficult to comprehend. There are so many people either dead or still missing. Today they say they still have a list of 446 missing just in Tuscaloosa. They are hoping it isn't really that many but I fear it may very well be that many.

I saw just today on the weather that the month of May could be just as bad because of the ocean warming. I usually love the month of May. I have a b'day, mother's day and a holiday in one month and 2 of my grandsons usually come for extended visits in May because school is out. I find that I am already dreading May because of the expected turbulent weather.

Please stay safe.

Thank you, thank you so much for all the prayers. The Cute community is truly special. I only have lots of twigs & small limbs which is truly a blessing when I look at all the devastation being reported.

This has been record setting. The death toll well over 200 now in AL. Madison Co. (Huntsville area) won't receive any power from TVA for days, maybe weeks because of so much damage. Dusk to dawn curfew for the whole county. All rural roads are completely closed. The Governor sent over 2000 National Guard troops to help the worst hit areas.

About 45 minutes south of me the towns of Hackleburg, Phil Campbell & Mt. Hope are all leveled. The area between Hackleburg & Phil Campbell is completely closed and a massive search is underway for possible survivors and bodies. Deaths are rising by the minute, 27 in Hackleburg & over 20 in Phil Campbell. Only rescue and assistance personnel are allowed in the 2 areas.

There is one female U of A student still missing in Tuscaloosa. Many missing over the entire northern half of the state so the death toll could easily go much higher.

All the hospital emergency rooms are overwhelmed. Many very serious injuries in addition to the deaths.

Just announced on a Huntsville station that a large caravan of ambulances, troopers, etc are headed up I65 from South Alabama to North Alabama to help.

I am so stunned by all that has happened to some people yesterday. In all my years I have never seen anything to compare to it. We often see localized damage from large tornadoes but this is so widespread that it is unbelievable. So many states involved too. They are saying Alabama is the worst but certainly not alone.

I pray for all those affected. My household is truly one of the blessed this morning.

Stay safe Cuties.

Hi Marcelle, I too live in Florence, Al. just had to plug in for a minute, I've guite a few very large oak trees down in my back yard and pasture, my horses are ok, and not much damage from the trees they hit my fences but all is fixable. My house and my neighbors were not hit, said a lot of prayers. My children have no power in Decatur as well, and may not have for 4 or 5 days, they say. Thanks for all the prayers from everyone, all of Alabama was hit pretty bad. Several cities no longer exist. Annie

The power of nature is impressive. Good luck and continued safety.

As it happens, I felt impelled to check doppler radar where my daughter lives today. About 5 mins into my research, my daughter called and asked me how close the tornado was.... somehow, she also knew I was on top of her situation. Bottom line, that tornado has passed and she and the kids are fine... scary stuff.

We live over 350 miles away from them.

I don't have a basement anymore. I wish I did. My husband is an invalid so it would be hard to use one in a wheel chair. When I lost power at 4:30 am his hospital bed mattress air pump no longer worked so that was bad. I just went ahead and got him up into his wheel chair.

I try hard to live as the Lord directs me and so far he has watched over us. I hope it continues. Thanks for the prayers.

Marcelle,
I live in Macon, the middle of Georgia, and was just looking at the weather radar. The storms haven't gotten to us yet, but they are calling for high winds and severe thunderstorms. It has been windy, but sunny most of the day. The wind is picking up at the moment, and getting cloudy, so the storm is coming my way. It looked rather severe through North Ala. and into Tenn.
I have a brother who lives in Sulligent, Ala., so I need to check on him. Stay safe, and hope it is all over and clear for you on the tornados very soon!

We too are having tornados all around us. Just had one 4 miles from our home last night. I live outside of Louisville, KY and we have been hit with flash flooding as well. Our nights are filled with so much lighting and thunder that we haven't had a good nights sleep for over two weeks. God has really watched over us and I pray you and yours will stay safe. Hugs, Judy
