So glad that you and your family are safe, and that is what really matters. I just did get word that all of my family in Alabama are okay, but a lot of destruction around the homes. Most of them have been without power since Wednesday, but they too are all safe. My nephew lives outside Florence in Athens, and I am not sure where that is, but he said that he has one half of someone's mobile home that came down in his yard. I think he is trying to find out who it does belong to, but hopefully the owners are safe too.
Glad your nephew & fmly is ok Dlonna. I have debris all in the yard but nothing that large./Lillian
Sorry to hear all this but the main thing is there alive and well!!keep well yourself Lillan, praying !!carolyn
Glad your daughter and family are fine. It is a sad thing to see all this devastation around the world but it's especially hard when it hits close to home. Sorry your grandson has to go through this. At least he is safe. Hope it works out soon for him.
Lillian, thanks for the update, and I'm very glad that the family is save, take care
Iris I am very thankful. I guess I'm kinda like a hen who would love to gather them all under my wings but it's impossible cause they spread their wings & fly far from you/Lillian
I'm happy to hear that all are accounted for. I have a dear friend who is a State Farm agent in this region (1 of 55 agents,in this region). And I was told that 150 people are rated class 1- no home left. There were over 9,000 claims as of yesterday. The only good thing, like you say, is folks having a job that have been without. The thing is, the whole country has been without work, so the work force should be larger than you normally would be able to employ.
Hugs to you and I'm being thankful. Jerrilyn
Adam's Ins. is State Farm I believe Jerrilyn, that's all his mom & dad have had all their married lives so it's a good possibility that is who he went with. I do know State Farm is his auto insurer.I too will be forever grateful for my Lord's grace./Lillian
I am so glad you were finally able to talk to them and no one was injured! I know it will an inconvience for them to have to move away from home for so long but with the Grace of God, no one was hurt and eventually they will be able to go home and get back into a regular routine. There were so many families that were not that blessed! Hugs and prayers. Linda
Linda thank you so much for calling, I do so enjoy talking with you & I am going to make it over one of these days so you, Kay & I can get together./Lillian
Glad to hear you have news ofrom your daughter take care, hugs Lisa
Praise God that your family is safe, Lillian. I'm so sorry about the damage to your grandson's home, but will keep them in my prayers.
Hugs,
Jacqueline
Sorry to hear that. I feel so badly for all that have lost everything.
It is so sad. I pick up pictures in my yard with no names & wonder if this was from a grandmother's stash some I can tell are old by the way they are dressed. It won't be the entire picture, half or just maybe the head & arms enough so you can see what they were./Lillian
Lillian, so sorry to hear your news about your Grandsons home. Thank goodness they are ok. Hugs and love Yvonne
Glad you and your family are OK, very sorry about your grandson's trouble. I hope you all stay safe!
Thank you Martine, the worst is over for now but who knows what tomorrow holds. Al. has never had tornados that did this much damage so they say. God does not promise blue skies everyday for us but grace to deal with whatever happens. I keep my trust in Him/Lillian
glad daughter and family are safe, sorry that your GS house is that serious. man what a way to start out. But most of all they are safe.
Oh gosh, sorry to hear that but glad they are ok. What a mess it all is. Been through lots of tornados but very lucky not to have had damage that bad. Praying that they can get back in their home very soon.
I'm sorry about their home, but I am so glad that you and they are all fine otherwise. I've been praying for you and yours. It's good hearing from you!
I feel so bad for all of those that lost all their possessions, but I am so glad for lives spared. May God help them all.
Sorry to hear this news, hope you will continue to be safe, thinking of you all. Hugs Sally
I too will keep everyone in my prayers & I pray that this brings people closer together in these troubled times, to help each other however they can.
It's good that they had insurance coverage. There are so many contractors out of work here in California too. Too bad it takes a disater to put them to work. Those poor people with no homes and no place to go. I started to "vent" about our government and their involvement in other places, but deleted it. Don't get me started . . . Just glad you are OK--I looked up your address on google, and it was too close for comfort!
Yes daisy 13 people are now dead who lived less than 10 miles from us. AS for venting about the gov't I coud do my share about that also. I have a Grand daughter living in Glendale, Ca. & a bro. in Manhatten Beach, Ca./Lillian
I'm so sorry they have lost their home. Are they getting any help from the Red Cross?
They have fmly to help them. The sad thing is this is the Grandson who just married 2 weeks ago. A brand new bride with everything new to her. I know this is sad for her but she says she is just glad they are alive./Lillian
Oh, Lillian, I did not know your family had suffered in the storms. We escaped here in the Loganville, GA. area. I saw the evening news pictures and realized how blessed we are. Keep us updated. Kay
So happy to hear that your daughter and family are ok - it is so hard to deal with distruction like this - when there is so much going on in one area - I can't imagine the expense of a motel for 5-6 months. We will continue to pray for all the people in your communities. Thanks for updating us.
I am just glad they are safe & well Shirlene. their are so many that aren't/Lillian
