Oh yes, I watched the hats, ranging from the fabulous to the ridiculous - the latter being a statement of the milliner's skill, but not exactly flattering or fit for the occasion. More like Ladies' Day at Ascot (which I watch only for the hats and fashion). And the BBC had a program the night before the wedding about people working behind the scenes, like tailors and milliners - I saw some fabulous hats, flowers and feathers being made. Made my fingers itch!!
I think it is all about the hats for them - there really were some nice ones and then the unbelievable ones as well.
This was a firework of hatter's skills ;o)
I know on which hat you thinking (right one on the pic? ;-).
Some of the hats are so big that you have seen more from the wedding staying at home and watch tv instead of sitting behind one of them *lol*
In opposite to adavisx3 my head is too big for most hats :o(
Greetings, Bettina
Yes, but look at that beautiful richelieu work around the shoulders. I'm pretty sure that's not the right name for it (please help me out here someone) but it is lovely. The seamstress who created that has reason to be very proud of her work. Am I the only one who saw the hat and not the dress?

That hat was certainly very off the wall. Only someone so young would have considered wearing it. I love hats and it is a shame that we here in the US don't appreciate how fashionable they can be. Unfortunately, I have a very small head and can only wear 1 off the shelf designer's hats and they are quite expensive. It is equally expensive to have them steamed and blocked slightly smaller. I have about a dozen hats and love everyone of them. Too bad I can't find many places to wear them so in their hat boxes they stay. Maybe someday I will have the luxury of having one made for me in England.
Well... I'm not mops but I sure would have like a couple of those hats for replacement satellite dishes.
Then there was one, whose owner shall remain unnamed, that was a marvel of gravitational engineering and left us wondering if the person sitting behind it had very wide eyes to see through the loops of the upstanding bow.
I agree that the hats on display must have warmed the cockles of any milliner's heart. What a choice of colours and styles there was! I found myself, at one stage, looking at the hats first and waiting for the next one to appear.

I think I know which one you meant! That one was pretty weird, and reminded me a bit of Dr. Seuss! But there were some really pretty ones too. Not very many people in the US wear hats, which is too bad. We're missing out on a whole experience! We could be decorating our heads and topping off the whole look with feathers and flowers and buttons and bows and frills. It reminds me of Go Dog Go!
Yes! Here's a picture of my friend Diane's beautiful first grand-daughter, and her comment about the darling picture!
"Did you notice I kept the "Royal Wedding" theme going for photo and had Avery wear the adorable "fascinator"?? She's a natural!! LOL xoxo Thanks for all the nice comments. I just love taking pictures, and God has blessed me with nice equipment and subjects!!
I think it is marvelous that you enjoy taking pictures and you have the talent and the equipment to do so. Do you have a website?
