No, I stitched it on fabric with stabilizer, then layered backing fabric, thinsulate, batting and the embroidered design. I did the desired quilting and added the binding.

I love my machie. My husband just bought me the Brother 770 embroidery machine today for Mothers Day. Can't wait to give that machine a try.
