You are on a roll. How many is that for you now. We do have such clever cuties among us, hugs Lisa
Congratulations Shirlene. It is a great tip and I was taught to always clip as you go. It really makes a big difference when you do a very dense design. Keep giving us those tips!Take care dearie.
Cindy B.
Cindy, thank you - it is amazing - that I could send in a tip - that most of us use - but that they picked it. Hehehe!
I think that Emblibrary needs to create a Tips from Shirlene section! Congratulation!!!
Dawn you are way to funny - I think there are other's that have many more published than me.
That's a wonderful tip. I've been wondering what the best thing to do is. Thanks for the tip and congratulations on your published tip.
Shirlener...what an excellent tip and especially for FSL designs, even though they sometimes have very few jumps. On regular fill designs, its almost a must to trip jump stitches as you go along. Thx.
I would never think of not clipping thread during color changes on FSL - that is for sure - thanks!
TANKS SHIR. I DO THIS AS THAT WAS HOW I WAS TAUGHT HOPE PEOPLE LISTEN LOL CAROLYN
It sure was a good thing - that so many really were taught this - I love it. Hehehe!
Congrats Shirlene. Some great designs there for you to choose from. *4U. Marg
Congratulations Shirlene, I did that when I was sewing on Designer1 - but now I don´t have to clip any more on my new sewingmachine Ruby, she clip all the tread for me hehehehehehe
Sigrún, thanks - my Babylock Ellegante2 clips the threads - but leaves a tail - I hate even the tails - so I clip them between color changes, too.
Yes, the Ruby does that, but only when the right codes are digitised. In their lessons The Flying Needle advices to eliminate those codes as they are "only used in commercial machines", however, the newer household machines can do it too! So I leave the codes in - you can always disable the cutting function - and when the codes aren't there you have no choice.
I hate the tails, but you have to take the hoop from the machine to cut those on the go.
No tails, just change the threads and go with your Embroidery......oohh love it.
Way to go Shirlene! I always do that and never thought anything of it! I am just a neat freak!
Love and blessings Chris
Congrats!!!! great tip, I learned this the hard way...I was use to cutting the major jumps so one day I was busy in the room and let a border of paws and hearts stitch out without cutting jumps, what a mess.....I've learned my lesson.
Janet, sometimes - we do have to learn that way - we think we can slip it by - but in reality - it is just better to click as you go, less mess later.
This has been a good tip week for us cuties. Congratulations!
Congratulations! Great tip, now enjoy shopping!
Hugs, Nadyne
Congratulations! You are the 3rd Cutie this week who has made tip of the day. I use this tip, never wait until the end what a mess i would have. Enjoy your new designs.
Bev
Thanks Bev, I know - isn't it great - I was sure you were one that did this, too.
Congratulations!! I clip mine as I go for that very reason.
Ramona, I knew that this wasn't orginal - I just knew it was something that I had been doing from the beginning - that was useful and worked for me. Glad it does for you - as well.
Congratulations! You must just have a lot of good ideas! Thanks for sharing them. :)
I went to the site to read your tip, but I'm afraid that I don't know how to find the Tip of the Day... I just went there, and I have no idea where to look!
Thank you dear - no more idea's or tips that most of us use or know from day to day - I just sat down and sent them in. Hehehe! Just click that link - it should take you there or look farther down - I also included it here.
Thanks for posting the link. I usually have to google their tutorials if I want to find them. LOL
Congrats Shirlene, have fun spending! I always cut my jump stitches, too much mess to wait.
Here it is:
Even though it seems tedious, I suggest you clip all your thread jumps in between each of your color changes. It's often easier and produces a better result - rather than waiting until the design is completed and you have lots of jump stitches that you have sewn over. What a mess that can be! I like to say -- make the back look as good as you can.
it is up there,,,,,this is something I have always done, it does make it so much easier to get a clean look!
Darlene, I know this wasn't anything new to most of you - just common sense - but I have always done it that way, too.
Congratulations, Shirlene; will check back later to see your tip. Since you're an expert on FSL, I hope your tip was about FSL, but I know you're wonderful at all embroidery, so ANY tips are welcome.
*4u!
Hugs,
Jacqueline
