I don't think I know what a gimping foot is. This is lovely work and I like your idea of putting this varigated thread work on black for a quilt.
Well - I don't even know how I even had it, but gimping is where a stitch is done over cording and leaves a raised welt area. We took one week trying to get the look that we wanted. It is fun seeing how everyone's is coming along - each of us has different tastes. I am just doing something out of the norm for me - just changing things up.
Oh my, I have sewn for more than 60 years, both professionly and for pleasure, but I have never used a gimping foot. I guess I've never sewn anything that required the use of one.
That is such a good idea to learn how to do other things with the machine. Nice designs.
