I have a Brother machine that has a 4x4 sewing area. Will a pattern that is 4.09 work on it? Afraid to try it. Thank you

My PED basic that loads designs WON'T let me open a design for my Brother if it is over 4....This is my second 4x4 Brother and I haven't found any way around it.

Try turning your design 90 degrees. Sometime this works expeciall in 5x7. I too have a brothers. The PED Basic goes to 6x10 butr it won't let you transfer designs to the card to the machine for that size of a design. But you can buy the bigger hoops just it won't take the 6x10 designs. mmm still stumbed on that one. Guess it keeps from doing to many hoopings.

The machine will let you know if the design is too big, just try and see what happens.Good luck***

I have a Brother also that uses 4x4. I can only use up to that size, not even 4.01 will work.

Sewmom is right. I have a brother and it must be smaller than 4x4 in order for the machine to except it. You can downsize it, and again I agree with sewmom, no more than 20% or it becomes to dense and causes messes at the back of your design.

Some machine will tell you that the design is too large for the hoop. Load the design and see if you get a warning message.

My Brother 4 inch hoop has to have the design just a little under 4 inches. Around 3.89. You can resize with Pulse Ambassador. Don't change it more than 20%. You can also use PE Design if you have it.

I agree and have done it, resize it to about 3.89....no more than 20% is the industry mark....I use Embird for this operation. You can go to Embird.com and check out their site. The software is not free, but you can 'try' it for a short period and see if it suits your needs.

I have a Brother ULT that will re-size some designs a bit. But I did get a pack from Em Library that had four designs. My machine took 3 but not the 4th and they were all the same size. That it would not allow me to re-size, but I had a friend do it for me with her software. So you can't always tell. Good luck! If you can't do it, let me know, and maybe my machine can re-size it for you.

If your machine will do a "trial" run, with the needle raised unthreaded, that will show you the
area the design will stitch within. If it takes the needle to over or touching the hoop edge, it will not take that size design.
