I have lost my dongle during moving of house. Where can I obtain another for the Easy Design programme, or perhaps buy a second hand one?

It is probably there somewhere, but they are so small that it'll turn up in the darndest place when you're not looking for it.
When I got my mine I was told to guard it as it was worth $500 to replace. I always leave it in the computer.
Good luck finding.

I have the 4D and was told it would cost the amount of new software. The case on mine is cracked but the dongle still works. I never unplug mine. I keep it plugged in the hub for my computer that I have other USB sticks plugged into. I leave them in there even when traveling. I just unplug the ones from my computer. Your dongle has to be there some place. It's just a matter of where. I do hope it turns up for you.

Also, welcome to Cute!

A friend broke her dongle for the Viking machine, and they charged her $125.00 for a new one. One thing nice about Embird is, I don't need a dongle to use it. My old software, I use a dongle. Hope you can get another one from the company.

Did your friend get a whole new dongle or just the case? I would like to get my case replaced. I've had it since 4D came out and just recently the case cracked. I was told I'd have to purchase one as though I was getting whole new software! That the wouldn't replace the case. Just wondering what your friend did. Thanks

I guess I'm not sure what she did. What happened is she had it in her laptop, and while using it in the chair, she somehow sat on it and broke off the end.

I keep my dongle for the old software in my desktop computer and never take it out. I've had it for several years and don't want anything to happen to it.

I have Embird on my laptop, and I don't have to worry about using a dongle on it. The more I use Embird, the more I like it.

I have Easy Design in my Janome ProMB3. I was told to take a photo of the dongle, dongle tag number, the original box and CD in the same photo and keep in safe. If you have this, your home owners insurance may cover the loss to replace either with another dongle from Janome or a new program...good luck and let us know for future what happens...

I hope you are not out of luck. I have a different software but I have been told to really safeguard the dongle as they will not replace them for any reason. I would still check with the dealer and maybe even your household insurance since it was lost in a move and you may have to buy new software. Hopefully it will turn up when you put your sewing room back together.

I think you're in big trouble...you'll probably need to contact a dealer to be able to get one and then they'll have to order it for you, but then I don't know that they have replacements. Sorry you've misplaced yours, hope you'll be able to get a new one.
