Aunt Martha patterns and their copyrights are still held by Colonial Patterns. As long as the company is still active the copyrights are still valid. Goggle the company and read their copyright information.

I found these and it says they date from the mid 1950's. That 20 years could make a difference.

Advertised as: "Humorous Embroidery Motifs" or "Cannibal Tea Towel Set" as named by the company. These seven different patterns are for the days of the week kitchen towels. These date from the mid 1950s.

I believe copyright is 50 years, but even if it is 70 years as mentioned even than we are now 80 years from 1930. So I would take it as safe myself.

3years ago I found some nice vintage mermaid-designs at Etsy and they wrote that the copyright has expired. I also wasn't sure and didn't bought them (and I really love mermaids).
Greetings, Bettina

There will be a copyright on them. Everything tangible has an automatic copyright.
A copyright is valid for 70 years after the artist's/designer's death, so the copyright would still be valid on these.
