I like this purse too. Saw your other one a while back. I have heard and seen of purses done this way, never tried it tho. Lovely designs on the bag too. *4U
This is beautiful. flower for you. Can you tell us more about the design? I tried a search for 'peacock' on sewforum but could not find this design. thank you.
I thought it was a freebie on serforum but after searching for it, I found it. There was a link on sewforum to the site that has these designs as freebies. Here is the link. There are still free.

I tried this link but it does't work. Can you give us the exact name o the website?
Thank you
Joanne, I am sorry you are having problems with this. If you copy and paste it in you browser, it should work. I just tried it and got to the exact page. If this does not work, the website address is
http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Epdebest/
Then go to the bottom of the page and click on "Come on in". Then click on "beautiful peacock." Hope this helps. This is a scrapware site. Petra, the owner of the site, requests you send her any scraps of fabric as payment for designs.
Thank you for all your help. I tried Google and it went right to the site.
Finally got the peacocks now on with the purse, I hope.
Thanks,
Joanne
Beautiful job and I love the peacocks. I checked sewforum for the design but there are thousands, do you remember the name of the design or anything else to help us find them?
Thank you for sharing your project.
Joanne
Very lovely. Thanks for sharing your idea about using placemats. This one looks gorgeous. Aren't the handles a great excuse for starting a new bag?!
Babyred, Soooooo cute . Thank you for sharing A flower for you.
Thanks everyone. I do not have a pattern. I use placemats to make the purse. The body of the purse is one placemat that goes from the front, around the bottom and the back. I then cut 2 pieces for the sides and sew them in. I found some cute peacock cotton that I sewed together in the same size for the lining. I also make larger bags that I use an entire placemat for the front and another for the back. Then cut pieces for the sides and botton. I posted a flamingo bag a couple weeks ago that I made that way. I buy the placemats I use at the Dollar Store. This whole purse, not counting the embroidery cost me $7.00 to make.
Had to go back to page 45 to see the flamingo bag. That one looked equally lovely.
Do you have a pattern for the purse, if so where did you find that? I love the birds, you could add "jewels" to the eye of the feathers. Really beautiful colors and a great use of "on sale handles". Awsome job!! Sue *4U
That is the way - buy the handles and build around them! have not tried anything with that in mind though. Very nice.
Babyred, that's a good enough reason to make another purse, haha! I love it. Hugs and a flower sweetie, and can I ask where you got the designs please.
Thanks Ruthie. I got the designs from sewforum.com. If you are not familiar with the site, I suggest taking a look. A lot of free designs and great friends there. I really don't remember the digitizer's name.
