I use the ones marked "denim/canvas". They are size 16/100. Welcome to our Cute family tatorbugcreations and *4U

You will be much happier with the work - if you use the denim needle. *4U

I just took in my machine manual. They recommend for heavy weight material like denim, corduroy, tweed, etc. size 90/14 to 100/16 needle. Makes sense heavy fabric, big needle.

I also like to use a denim or jeans needle size 100 and that little plastic thing called "Jean-a-ma-jig", which enables you to sew over the thick seam. It is especially helpful when hemming jeans. Recently, I bought a twin needle size 100, but i haven't used it yet.

I always use the needles special for jeans and i like hem, they are more sharp to go through the material.

I always buy the ones that specify "denim" on them... they do work better when you're sewing jeans material.

I have used that ordinary 130/705 H needle 90-100 and now I used a jeans/denim H-J 90. And I have to say that there is a difference. Denim needle has a narrower point, that`s why it`s sliding better when you sew a thick material like denim. Hope this helped you!

There are thicker needles (90/14 or 100/16) with normal points, the special jeans needles are the ones with the sharper point. Must say I have used the first before I knew the latter existed, both do the job. Flower for you.

yep - you'll need a 90 or 100 size needle. this has a sharper point so it can penetrate the dense fabric. good luck, and a star for your efforts.

the one that I have in my machine is a size 11? That one will not work?

use the 14. 90/14 is what mine say. It needs to be sharper to go through the denim better. I have used the 11 for a design that's not very dense, but doesn't work as good as the 14.
