Last year, a young girl ran a red light, while texting, as
my husband was making a left turn at the light in a semi tractor/trailer rig. He said when she realized what was
happening, she got her car stopped as she was going underneath the side of the truck's trailer. Her car stopped as the side of the trailer struck her windshield. She was very, very lucky! It could have easily decapitated
her.
I agree no texting, unless the car is parked! I have a handsfree device for my cellphone attached to my windshield visor. Yet, I do not feel safe talking on it, while driving! NO unnecessary distractions needed, when one is behind the wheel of a moving vehicle!

Oh my goodness! That would have been horrible. I hope she learned her lesson and doesn't text while driving ever again.
I don't even allow a phone to be on - when in the car - it is too distracting.
That's a good idea. I use my bluetooth and keep the communication to yes and no. Most of the time. You are right it is too distracting.
I agree. Talking on the cell phone while driving is illegal, texting while driving should also be illegal.
Texting while driving here in Michigan is illegal...yet I still see people doing it..Just goes to show you how ignorant some can be !!
I totally agree with you. (And I can tell from experience)
