Thank you for posting this Shirlener. We are all never too old to learn how to value the people in our lives and more importantly to TELL them so. hugs, Meganne
Meg, thank you, dear one. You are important in my life and I love you. *4U
Ok, I read all your answers before I watched the movie, so I had enough tissues. I had heard versions of this story, but thought it was an urban legend. My Dad was a teacher for many years, at his funeral there were many men who came up to me & told me how he 'saved' their shambled lives by demanding they be the best they could be, instead of giving in to being 'one of the bad boys' and being proud of that. These men were executives, bricklayers, and one was a 'garbage man' (sanitation engineer, now, I guess), but they were all proud of who they were, and the best at doing what they did. Teachers are SO important!! And I wish they would all follow this wonderful woman's example. We are *all* so important, each in our own way. Fooey, I'm a writer, and I can't get these words right, because I'm so emotional now. But I think the dishes & embroidery collecting are going to have to wait, because I'm going to take a bunch of real flowers over to my friend I haven't seen since Easter. We're older, and as I discovered with my DH dying, tomorrow may never come. I love all you girls, and thank you so much for being in my life! You all do make a big difference to me. Love, Marji
Marji, I am so sorry to read about your DH, May the Good Lord bless you both with a multitude of wonderful days to keep sharing Together. My prayers are with you. hugs, Meganne
Marji, I too am dismayed at hearing about your darling. Cherish these precious days as I know you are. I am adding you and your family to my prayer list. MWAH!
marji, I am happy to call you friend and I know that the things that you have learned - through the hard times will help you during other times in your life. You are a wonderful friend for taking flowers to a dear one, like that. *4U!
Shirlene, thank you so much for this. I believe that if every one of us tried every day, to make just one person's life better , just by a smile, a hug, a kind word, then the world would be a far more beautiful place. I suggest that we try it, we may never know the difference we make to someone, but that doesn't matter, because our life will be enriched because we helped them. Love, hugs and flowers for you sweetie.
Thank you for sharing this, Shirlene. It made me shed tears as well. You made a difference for me today. Thank you.

mm, wow, what a miracle - we all need a bit of God touching us - now and again, and believe me - you wouldn't be the first mother that has realized the same thing - just take a breath and remember God choose you to be their mother - so that you would be able to teach them to be great adults - you have them - until they are 18 and it is truly up to you - to raise them into fit and desent adults - ready to take life on - with full force - I know you can do it and you have it in you, too! *4U
