you did not make a big mistake - you got the Badgemaster, which was what was recommended to me by a site owner that deals in much of the FSL that I started out with. I could not find it here, and was thrilled when I did find it on Shopper's Rule. I use both Badgemaster and Vilene. At times I still use 2 layers of the badgemaster depending on the density of the lace I am doing. I most always use 2 layers of the Vilene, and have it rotated - one layer going one way, and the second layer opposite. Go with it. You may like it better, some do.

I use Badgemaster also. Only 1 layer works fine for free standing lace designs. But, you can try it on a small item like a bookmark and see if you like the results.

Thank you, do you use 1 or 2 layers. Iva

Iva - there are differnt grades of badgemaster. If it is pretty heavy use only one layer. Some I got needed the layers, but not always. Beth

Iva dear, many have used Badgemaster for FSL for many years and swear by it. I am unsure what to tell you about it - as I have never used it - but I think that you only need one layer, too - but follow the manufactures suggestions.
