This is beautiful. Very nice job. He will love it forever.
That's a very nice t-shirt quilt, I'm sure her grandson will love it. Did you hand quilt it? Nice job!!!!!!
Oh my goodness, no. Not a hand quilter. I don't think even a good hand quilter would want to quilt through that. hehehe
Thank you for your kind remarks.
This is beautiful, you did a really great job.
This is so great. I plan to keep t-shirts from my grandson so I can do this for him one day. I have several friends that have done this also. This is one of the prettiest that I have seen. Great job!.
I know Midge will appreciate your comment. I wish I had done it for my son. He had so many t-shirts. Thank you!
Great idea!!! I am not sure how she was able to get him to give them up. Most boys wear them until they are rags.
You're so right. I wish I had done it with my son's t-shirts but didn't know about t-shirt quilts back then. And, like you say, most of his were worn out.
Thank you
This is a great idea - do you know how she coped with the fabric being stretchy?
Yes, she uses fusible interfacing. Like you would use on the facing of a jacket or in a collar. This stabilizes the knits and makes them suitable for sewing. I also use the fusible when making quilts from clothes.
How cute is this....he will love taking part of hs with him to college....it will be a treasure.....thanks for sharing......
Great quilt - and something for the boy to use all through school.
Ramona, this is wonderful - I just bet that Midge's grandson will be so proud to have this in his college dorm. *4U
The stripping between the designs set this whole quilt off.Great choice and great job on your quilt !!carolyn
What a great idea. It looks fantastic.
what size are your blocks.
How did you manage the stretch on the blocks.
Thanks
You know, I've already mailed the quilt back to her but they were large blocks. She uses fusible interfacing to stabilize the knits, then cuts them to the size she needs and sews.
