I'm hand embroidering for Christmas as well - must be something in the air!
It feels like winter here in UK this morning, but I appreciate what you all mean! (Especially those of you in the antipodes.)
It seems, though, that the general concensus is not hold the challenges until September(ish).
Never do have enough time to do everything I want to do, but I do love the idea of the challenges, just haven't been able to participate as my machines, stash, threads and tables are all up up at the new house and have been for aeons, so I have nothing to work with. I can barely wait to be able to participate fully again, it is just too difficult right now.
How about setting up a challenge for "Christmas in July"? It would help us all get started earlier on our Christmas projects.
Maybe June could be something along the line of Weddings, as June Brides seems to be well known most everywhere.
Just some random thoughts.....
mind you, when I finally DO get up to the house permanently, I'm going to have so many projects to do I'll be lucky if I can ever leave my sewing room again. LOL!!!!!
Hugs n roses, Meganne
I enjoy the challeges - even if I don't get involved in them - because I really like seeing what others are doing with all the CUTE designs they are downloading - it doesn't have to be a themed challenge - just anything from the the designs from CUTE or the sister sites. Just to showcase Veronika's designs. And I also love the Christmas in July, too - I would really miss that one.
because of the approaching summerholidays/vacation I think it's better to wait a while. *4u
(But perhaps the cuties that have winter now, like to go on)so let's see what answers will come here.
ahh that seems a shame as I really love seeing
what people are up to and seeing the great uses of
cute designs too..
I have only been able to partake in one of the challanges due to other commitments..
But Im very happy to partake as and when I can
big hugs from London

Perhaps we could suggest a challenge to post around the 21 september, on the subject: fall, but in south hemisphere it will be spring, or start of the new school year, is it the same moment all around the world? or anything else you could suggest, of course with using a design of miss Veronika. But I think that it would be well to give a date and a subject now. During those 3 month every one is busy, but one day or another we can find some time for thinking to the challenge.
Hi Sue, the sunflower challenge was the only one I took part in - no excuses!!! Perhaps a challenge every quarter?? Thank you for the many hours you put in to all the challenges. Sarah.
You forget it is winter somewhere in the world. But am happy to do whatever is decided
Here in Oz the first day of winter is 1st June. It does not really worry me one way or the other if there is a challenge. We harvest the sugarcane in winter so it is a busy time for us. Marg
I think winter time is best when we are in the house sewing as it is to cold to even stick your nose out .Well at least here it gets to -35 or more thanks carolyn
I thought iy was cold today. It is 56F or 13C inside and everyone is complaining how cold it is. You would possibly think it was just nice, but still too cold (and Wet) to be outside. My machine is calling me.
Here in the States, May is a very busy month with graduations, and school closing for the summer. I have not even thought about anything to do. I like the challenges, but sometime our daily challenges get in the way. Love to see what everyone is doing, even if I can't get it done.
It was easier to do during the cold months when we didn't want to go out as much. There have been some nice projects posted because of the challenges.
I agree, we need to take a break from the monthly challenge. This is just a super busy time of year, vacations, kids, gardens, etc.
Not for us downunder. You forget how big the world is and there are others of us living down below.
I agree maybe we should give it a rest and come back in a few months with new fresh ideas. Goodnight June challenge.
Bev
I think everyone is geting busy with their yards and gardens, graduation parties and other busy summer stuff, and just aren't finding enough time right now. I know thats the case with me anyway. I'm also busy raising chicks right now. I think this time of the year just gets to hectic for most of us. I feel bad (for me,lol) because I'm not getting them done. I didn't get the revamp for April done, aand now this months challenge too. I agree, maybe we should hold off until Fall hits again, when everyone's lives slow back down with outdoor activites that are keeping us away from our embroidery.
Do not forget there are a lot of Cuties living in the Southern Hemisphere. We are just about to go into winter here in SA.
airfairy you are right, it never dawned on me its winter or fall elsewhere.
